Saw this for the first time on a trip to Amsterdam, really liked the concept but it was expensive. Looked on Amazon on the return to the US and found it for a great price. The holder looks great on the kitchen counter and the knives are much better quality then I expected for the price.
All in all a good, fun purchase that also proved practicle.

The knives are top quality and the holder is awesome! It definitely is large, but I like that. It goes great with my black granite kitchen! Anyone who comes in our apartment comments on it. I read several reviews that you shouldn't put the knives in the dishwasher, so I haven't because I want to make sure they don't rust. I bought this based on the review of J (you know who you are) and it is a real attention getter. I like the voodoo feel of storing the knives and when I am re-inserting the blades I only hope my ex-boss gets a twinge where he most deserves it. LOL. This is by far the coolest gift I have ever purchased. The recipient hasn't stopped talking about it yet. She says somedays it's the "Ex" and somedays it's the "Boss". I asked her if the knives were any good and she said "Who cares!!" It is such a conversation piece and has provided endless joy! We love this knife holder, it is always the topic of conversation at our new loft. The price was better than i have found anywhere and the knives have nice weight and are super nice quality. The unit has a magnet in each slot so the knives stay put and you can feel it grip them. A super way to decorate your kitchen!
