Gave it 4 stars just bc I haven't purchased it, but would love to one day. I love the idea, it'd be a great conversation starter during friend visits. I definetly don't understand why the hell people are complaining saying it promots "violence" lol especially sayin it promotes violence against men...who said its a man? Its a stick figure! Called "the ex" not "ex boyfriend" get over urselves people! If ur gonna complain bout a knife stand, than we all should probably get rid of all the violent games out there, violent music, violent movies, etc...jeez.Customer Review: Holder- hilarous, knives- so-so

I first saw this in Europe on vacation and I loved it from the start. I ended up getting it for a great price for my boyfriend as an anniversary present two years ago. We have an unusual sense of humor in our house and this piece fits perfect. As others have said, the holder is plastic and not ceramic or a heavier material. The knives themselves are pretty average quality. But you're not buying this for the knives really. You're buying this for the look on your guests faces when you ask them to get you the bread knife.Customer Review: Nice conversation piece

I bought this set as a unique conversation piece. We had recently remodled a kitchen, and had a spot to fill on a bare counter. I had seen the product once in a specialty store. I will probably never actually use any of the knives, but they seem to be of pretty good quality. The holder itself is made of plastic, with a large base to keep it sturdy. It also seems to be made to last, even with daily use.
For what I purchased the product for, I am very satisfied.

My husband and I first saw The Ex knife-holder set at a local store in Seattle, but after looking on-line found it for a much more affordable price at Amazon. We weren't even that interested in the knives--it was shiny and red like many of our appliances,(even our floor), so fit right into our funky house. We replaced the paring and chef's knives with my fancy-schmantzy professional ones, which fit in the head and heart slots just fine, and now everybody's happy!Customer Review: Hilarious though broken

This item definitely looks hilarious. I love it so much.
A little disappointment is that one of the plastic sheath broke during the shipping and I had to fix it back with super glue. (warranty is only offered to users in US)
Anyway I think got to be careful when you take out and put back the knives in order not to break anything. Would need to use the other hand to hold it too to prevent it from toppling over. (the magnet is quite strong)
