I have been using this shampoo and corresponding conditioner for about 6 months. I have extremely thick wavy hair that has never been dyed. With synthetic shampoos, I would have to buy a new kind after each bottle because it would work great for a week or two, then my hair would get dull and have lots of buildup. I tried this because I love every product of theirs I have ever tried. To my surprise, I no longer had to switch shampoos every few months. My scalp never gets itchy like it used to, my hair is unbelievably healthy and shiny to the point where I can extend the time between trims now. The smell is not offensive, but not as fruity and great as some of the synthetic shampoos. I have heard that if you have hard water, natural shampoos will not rinse out well...you can buy a water softening shower head if you live in an apartment or rent house (it seriously cuts down on shower cleaning time...totally worth it) My suggestion for using this shampoo is to make sure your hair is totally soaking wet, and then once you have a good portion of your head lathered, comb the shampoo through. I have to do this because my hair is soooo thick. It is actually tiring to lather up my hair with this shampoo because there aren't all the chemical softeners and plastics that cause other shampoos to 'glide' over your hair (and cause build up). With a little effort and lots of water, it will work in and foam up nicely. Anyways, I love this shampoo and I don't think I will ever switch again!
