Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Brother ES2000 77 Stitch Function Computerized Free Arm Sewing MachineCustomer Review: Fantastic Machine for a Rookie Sewer and More Advanced Seamstresses Summary: 5 Stars
I am a beginning sewer, but can already tell that this is a heavy-duty machine that will do many great things- There are lots of features I love about it, and the computerized functions and stitch settings are common sense and very easy to use- everything you need is in the right spot and easily manipulated while sewing, like the presser foot detacher, etc. I really like the auto-button sewing function and buttonhole foot that automatically sews the right hole- I have a children's wall art business, but am so motivated to sew by this machine that I stay up well into the night to do some outfits- Since December, I have used it a lot and it has had no problems, except for the thread getting extremely tangled inside the machine- I took it apart and cleaned it out and think it happened b/c I tried to use a different bobbin- same size but DO NOT try that!!! I think there are specific grooves on the bobbins included with this machine- I got this when Amazon had a $25 off $200 deal so got a really great deal- This machine is worth a lot more than it is priced and I recommend it for anyone doing medium- to heavier duty projects. It handles multiple layers fairly well- even a few layers of denim, so can do many home and clothing projects- Have fun sewing!!

Customer Review: Don't let the low price fool you! This machine is great!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned this machine since Mother's Day 2005. I have not had a minute's trouble with it. In fact, I prefer it over my Bernina 1090! It has so many features you would expect to pay thousands of dollars for! I thought I would never be able to afford a machine that did all this. The best part is, this machine comes complete with absolutely everything you can buy for it--there are no extra feet to buy, etc., because this includes everything you need.
One night just for fun I worked through the entire instruction book. It is without a doubt the best and most complete manual I have ever gotten with a sewing machine. I was able to master every stitch function and attachment in one very pleasant evening. You really don't need another machine. The feet are plastic, which is GREAT--you can see through them. There is nothing cheesy about the parts--they all work exactly as they should. I am crazy about my machine, and its support materials. So crazy, in fact, that I recently bought the Brother serger here on Amazon, and it is just as good. GREAT machines. Why spend more? Buy this inexpensive machine and you'll have lots more money to spend on FABRIC!!
Customer Review: Great Machine! Even for beginners! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this machine so I could make Christmas Presents this year and it has been great. The only thing i would reccomend is if you are new to sewing to try and have someone who isnt new around, the directions can be somewhat confusing in their wording, especially if you have never even looked twice at a machine before. And it took me forever and a year to figure out how to thread the bobbin, and the machine since I didnt know how. But once i got it, i figured out that it has lots of different stitch settings, which I am still trying out and will probably never use all of them. It can sew buttons as well. And it comes with lots of feet for the machine as well as bobbins (it has to have a special kind) and a little kit of tools as well. Overall this is a great buy! I may end up purchasing "Sewing for Dummies" to go along with it, so I can learn to sew more then a pillow. :-)
Customer Review: I Love It Summary: 5 Stars
I got my first sewing machine in 1995, knowing very little about sewing. I always had problems that I was sure were my own fault. I got the machine serviced and they told me everything was fine with the machine, but I still had lots of problems. So I rarely used it.
Then, about a year and a half ago, I bought this machine. I have sewn hundreds of hours on this one and absolutely love it. Now I understand why people sew. The machine makes all the difference.
Now, don't expect all the bells and whistles with this $150 machine. You get what you pay for. Some day I'll have a $3,000 Janome with thread cutter, auto up, ect, ect. But this is still a great machine. I have made 8 quilts, costumes, clothing, ect and am still in love with it.
Customer Review: Wow! Easy to Use right out of the box Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my new Brother ES2000 yesterday (1-30-07) and I can not get over how easy it is to use. I do not have very much experience sewing but read others reviews of approx 50 sewing machines. I did end up purchasing the Brother ES2000 and am very happy with my purchase.
I was able to start sewing in about 20 minutes. My husband is shocked because now I actually want to hem his pants!
I am very impressed with how light the machine. My Aunt gave me a Singer machine that is about 50 years old and I can not even get the darn thing threaded. The Brother machine is wonderful!!! I will be making alot of projects that I could not bring myself to even think about before.
