My mom gave me her old Singer and I just wanted a nice case to store it in when not in use. This item fits the bill. Nicely made and good locking hinges. For the price, it can't be beat.
Not sure why people are tripping out about the size, the dimensions are clearly listed in the details. Funny how people think they can assume size dimensions for a picture. In any case, probably too large for modern machines but just right for the older models.

When my old machine died on me I was fit to be tied. With little money and hating to have to read and learn a whole new machine...I settled on the Brother. It arrived in no time and was soooo easy to use. The instructions were simple and really not much change from my 49 year old machine. I think they should have 2 universal sewing cases. 1 For big machines, 1 for small ones. I just bought a small sewing machine and also bought this case. It's good quality, and highly recommend it to protect your machine, but this one it's too big for my machine.
But anyway I can recommend this product, it's good quality and will help you protect your machine.

As the other reviews have pointed out the case is big and bulky, but its sturdy and lightweight. I take it with me to sewing class a few times a week and have not had any issues with it. There is a lot of space left if you just have a standard sewing machine, but I use the space to store my sewing notions, this way I always have everything with me.Customer Review: Great for serger! This is perfect for my serger sewing machine. The serger fits perfectly in the middle and the two ends allow just enough room to store extras like sewing manual and foot pedal and cords. At $17.99 plus free S & H the price can't be beat. I have the hard square serger case too but much prefer this one.
