My husband purchased this for me as an accessory to my PE270D machine. It really makes transferring designs easy! It is easy to learn for just about anyone and you can even resize and view the colors for each design in the preview tab. I recommend this primarily for newbies to embroidery but of course it is great for all just for the blank card and ease of use.Customer Review: Embroidery Software

The Brother PED-Basic Software is easy to understand and use. The instructions are clear. I was able to immediately begin downloading embroidery designs to the software, transfer them to the card, and use the card in my sewing machine. I am amazed at how much this allows me to download! I thought I would only be able to download designs from the Brother website, but I was WRONG! You can get designs from almost any embroidery site with this!!! I love it! I've done so much with it, that it's basically paid for itself! I am pretty new to embroidering but I did know that there were a lot of patterns online and I needed a way to get them into my sewing machine. I was told when I bought my Brothers Embroidery Machine that I would need a magic box which runs about $250. I looked on Amazon and found the ped basic and decided to try it. It has worked worked great and is less than half the price. Amazon was quick in their shipping also. I highly recommend it.
