I bought two of the large variants of this rack earlier this year (2008). They assembled easily - so easily that my 5 year old and 9 year old were able to "assist" me.
I piled up each with a 1/2 cord of wood. The racks show no indication of bending or flimsiness. The finish seems quite durable. I've got both racks under cover on my front porch so I expect they'll last for many years.
