I have used this shoe stretcher on several pairs of shoes now and it works very well. Some shoes have required 24hrs, others more. It all depends on the leather and construction of the shoe. The instructions say that it will not work on heels over 4" but it did the trick. It fits much better in lower heels, yes. I am happy with the results on my leather shoes thus far. I have not used it to stretch the length of the shoe, so I cannot comment on that. This device has saved me a lot of money as I had given up on a few pairs that were too tight to wear. My shoe size is a 6, so no problem with getting enough opening on the contraption to fill the shoe.
