Customer Review: Perfect pitchers for my refrigerator space

I came back to purchase more of these pitchers as a gift for my Mom and found some very poor reviews, so I'm writing this review in defense of the product.
I see several poor reviews on these pitchers based on SHIPPING problems. That's a quality control problem for Amazon to solve. My pitchers arrived well packaged and unbroken, so not all shipping experiences are bad. Amazon has excellent customer service and whenever I have reported a shipping problem they have always reacted in a positive manner to correct the problem.
This space is a PRODUCT review, and here is mine. I LOVE these pitchers. I make different types of ice tea in each pitcher several times a week, and have had them many months now, and they are as perfect as the day I received them. They are heavy duty glass, and the design is perfect for my refrigerator door shelves, so they don't take up valuable space in the body of my refrigerator. My Mom has a poorly designed side-by-side refrigerator with very restricted space. She also has the grandkids over all the time who like to drink lemonade or koolade. She usually ends up throwing out any unused drink since the pitchers she owns don't fit or take up too much room in her refrigerator. These little pitchers (41 oz per current item description) will fit in her refrigerator door.
I take the pitcher lid off before pouring so I have not experienced the frustration that some have had with trying to pour with the lid on. It really wasn't a show stopper for me.
I just think these pitchers are great work horses, and the design is just what I needed. The price is very reasonable for two heavy glass pitchers, too.

These pitchers are very sturdy and heavy. They fit beautifully on the inside door of my refrigerator. They don't leach chemicals into my beverages, either. They take up very little space (they are squared not rounded so they fit well all lined up) and are attractive. If you are looking for a healthy option to plastic, this is it.
Every other review has mentioned the looseness of the lids. On the jugs that I got the lids are nice and snug keep things fresh (I bought a total of six jugs). The lid can be turned to an "open" position like many pitchers so that the lid doesn't have to be removed to pour. Perhaps there is some variation in quality since we disagree here.
The pitchers are attractive and not chinsy-looking like plastic pitchers. Buy more than one not only to save on shipping and handling, but because you'll want more for sure!

We have been wanting to get away from using plastic containers for storage, as one hears contradictory things about their safety (how come water bottled in plastic is okay, but re-filling them is not?). If you were not aware of this, the European Union adopted a sweeping set of Chemical Regulations that have forced manufacturers there to change the composition of plastics, among other things, to more human friendly materials. Naturally, US manufacturers have been fighting such changes tooth-and-nail, making us here second-class citizens as far as government regulation is concerned. Just thought I would put that in, as there is a world of ignorance in this country. In any case, these are great pitchers. These two glass containers were perfect for what I needed. What was that need you might ask? I wanted ice coffee during the hot summer months. The glass doesn't absorb the coffee stains or scent, easy to clean, and fits very well in the door of my refrigerator. The top lid doesn't fit snugly, but it keeps the coffee from smelling up the leftover food and it keeps the leftover food scents out of the coffee. Again, my need was to keep ice coffee in the refrigerator and I didn't want it to take up a lot of space. These containers did just that.
