After watching Nigella's show for years and years I grew fond of the cute kitchen gadgets and tools she has used and now developed as part of her signature line. This little whisk has been with her for years and I can see why she's so enamored with it - unlike most whisks the base is flat and shaped more like a spoon rather than like a regular rounded wire whisk, letting the cook handle it easier, when cooking sides of pots and pans can be scraped and everything gets blended better. I wouldn't use this to whip up meringue where larger tool is necessary for large peaks, but for smaller jobs this is not only handy but easy to wash in the end. Sometimes I dread using lots of utensils when cooking because the dishes in the end can be overwhelming but this little thing can easily soak in any little cup and unlike large whisks can be washed with less effort.

I use this little thing for scrambling eggs, making batters and vinaigrettes or sauces and especially when I make macaroni and cheese. My favorite recipe coincidentally comes from Nigella's first book; How to Eat: The Pleasures and Principles of Good Food and when I make the sauce this tool helps to blend everything into silky perfection. This is also great for making hot chocolate or gravy, really anything where lumps can be an issue can be obliterated into total smoothness.

This is the best to whip a few eggs. It's the perfect size to fit into even a small cereal bowl. it gets the job done even though it is small. I also love the unique shape and color.
