Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Nigella Lawson Bliss Measuring Cups, Set of 4, CreamCustomer Review: cute & great for a little portion control Summary: 5 StarsThese have held up for several years banging around in my baking drawer and are great for portion control.
Customer Review: Adorable. Summary: 5 StarsAny lack of functionality is made up for by how cute these are.
So what if the handle should be bigger? They're fun to look at.
Customer Review: Beautiful but one flaw Summary: 3 StarsThese are beautiful cups that are a pleasure to behold and are just fine for measuring wet ingredients. However, if one is measuring dry ingredients such as flour, you cannot level the flour off with a knife for precision. Instead of having each cup be the exact volume for each measurement, the cups have the measurements etched inside with the line well below the level of the top of the cup, making leveling off impossible. Admittedly, one should measure dry ingredients with a scale for greatest accuracy, but the cups are advertised as being good for a "multitude of baking ingredients" so I don't think that's true.
Customer Review: Love them! Summary: 5 StarsMy husband gave me this set last Christmas and I absolutely love these! They're so cute and durable! An added benefit is that I just pop them in the dishwaser when I'm done. They've been in the dishwasher probably 100 times by now and the black paint on the inside (denoting the measurement) has not faded or chipped in the least. The handles are proportionate to the size of cup. I agree that it's not a good idea to drink tea from them. They should be purchased for the purpose in which they are intented - measuring. In that regard, they're perfect!
Customer Review: Perfectly precious, and useful, too! Summary: 5 StarsSorry to the first reviewer, but I think it's ridiculous to purchase these "measuring cups" with the idea to drink tea out of them. Firstly, as labeled by the designer and the manufacturer, they're measuring cups. Secondly, why would one want to drink tea out of cups labeled with "1/4 cup," "1/3 cup," etc.? Perhaps because I purchased them, and use them, for their designated purpose, I think they're wonderful, and certainly much more attractive than the regular plastic or stainless steel ones that are so prevalent.
As for the size of the loops, I find them proportional to the size of each cup, and therefore, I would not want to see them any bigger. They are functional, and the appearance of the cups would suffer if they had oversized, bulky handles.
