Customer Review: The Blendtec is worth every penny!

I'd had my eye on the Vitamix the past 2 years and finally broke down and bought one in Costco over the holidays. I kept it for about 30 days to make sure I gave it a fair shot. Back to Costco on another weekend shopping spree and Blendtec was there this time doing a demo. I'd never seen their demo, but after I saw it I was immediately sold. Aesthetically the Blendtec was more appealing to me. I like the digital display, the countertop height, measurement displays on blender, 1 touch buttons, tamper free (Vitamix tool), and most of all I thought it would be husband friendly! The Vitamix is also a great blender, but it was too cumbersome for me personally. I use my Blendtec every morning to make smoothies. I made my husband one and he said it was the best smoothie he has EVER had. I showed him how to use it and now he makes his own smoothies every day. Thank goodness, that's one less thing I have to do for him!;)
If you want a blender that is packed with horsepower, has multiples uses, and will make the best whole foods effortless...Blendtec is the blender for you. When purchased for Costco Jan '11, they offered an additional mail in 4 yr warranty which is a total of 7 yrs.

This is a very fine product. I purchased this blender in hopes to get more vegetables in my diet. I am a weight lifter so I wanted a better alternative than taking vitamin and mineral supplements in pill form. I feel that the whole food is better than pills and using a juicer. I was considering getting a breville juicer but realized I did not want to make a mess. I know if I start making a mess I probably won't continue. I read alot that most of the nutrients are in the pulp left over from juicing including fiber. So I went with the best Blender on the market. All fingers pointed to the blendtec. When I got the blender at first look I was not impressed. It looked bland and a little cheap looking. Although I'm not sure what I expected the blender to look like. My first blend was cucumber, strawberries, avacado and a little soy milk with water. Pressed smoothie button and blast. This thing is powerfull. The smoothie was great. I have been very impressed with this product and hope it holds up for a very long time. Lets be honest the price tag is ridiculous. The most expensive appliance you could own. I've waited to review this till I had a chance to use it over several months, and the 'honeymoon' period had ended.
First, this is a fantastic blender. I probably consume about 100% more fruits and vegetables now thanks to the smoothie/raw juice settings. I just put whatever I want into the unit, press the button, and about 1 minute later it's done.
This model has plenty of power, and I've yet to hear it sound like its having troubles blending anything I've put into it.
It also is extremely easy to clean. I simply rinse the lid and canister in hot water when I'm done. No muss and no fuss.
I'm also happy with the size of it. It neatly sits on the counter top and doesn't take up a bunch of room. It is also small enough to fit easily in my cabinet. The black and chrome exterior with the blue LED readout is also nice looking.
Like the other reviews; however, it can be a bit loud. Not painful rock concert loud by any means, but loud enough that it's probably not a good idea to blend something at 2 AM while others are sleeping. ;)
Customer Review: The Best Blender I've ever tried...

After burning up my 5th or 6th blender since starting to make smoothies, I thought it was time to go for something a little more serious. While reading reviews here, I found out that a major coffee chain uses these to make their delicious coffee smoothies, and I LOVE those, so what the heck? Now I can make my own at home for a fraction of the cost, along with fruit smoothies and other recipes that would otherwise destroy other blenders or food processors. I'm VERY happy with the performance.
A few tips: Hold on to the lid when you start it up though, or it might pop off from the awesome power it kicks when the motor begins. Read the directions regarding frozen stuff to fluid ratios to get the best performance out of this blender. If you use the proper ratios of fluid to ice/frozen fruit, you'll make flawless smoothies by using the #3 button alone. Simple and efficient.
I've only had mine for a couple of months, but judging from the performance I think it MAY be my last blender forever!

I did a lot of research before choosing this blender. I love this blender. It has changed my daily routine. I use it almost every day. Sometimes several times a day. You can do so many things with it. My favorite is to make juices and smoothies. I love that I can get more nutrition with this blender than a juicer because it keeps in all the healthy fiber! Although for some vegetables, it wouldn't be so bad to have a juicer as well, sometimes its a little too much fiber. I definitely eat more fruits and veggies now that I have this blender. It's powerful (although once I had to send it back to the manufacturer after 6 months to get fixed, this was free except for the shipping, it's now back to full speed again). It's nice when you blend things and don't find chunks in the final product. I like the different cycles. I like that it turns off automatically. I like that it lifts off the motor easily. So many great things if I don't stop now I may be writing all day.
