Customer Review: Shake it up, baby! I love my Blender Bottle!

I really like these Blender Bottles! The design proves, once again, that some of the best innovations are simple modifications of existing approaches -- and proves also that aesthetic touches can make a world of difference in the experience of a product.
For a long time, I'd been using a generic brand of shaker for my protein shakes and other beverages. It was ugly, felt a bit cheap, but did the job -- to an extent. My drinks didn't taste very smooth, but I tolerated that -- and I could get them to a pretty decent consistency if I shook the bottle long enough and hard enough.
I bought this one after seeing the rave reviews and hoped they were right. They were. There are several advantages to this type of shaker over the other one I've used:
1. It looks good -- yes it is made of plastic but it is a rugged plastic, that feels solid; the edges are smooth and there are no lines that indicate an inferior manufacturing process.
2. The cap goes on smoothly -- with my other bottle I had to keep trying to get the cap to fit the groove and go on tight. If I got it wrong then it would leak when I started shaking. With this cap I've never had problems.
3. The "lip" that covers the drinking hole stays open or shut as you like -- with my other bottle I had to hold it shut with my thumb while I was shaking, and then when I would drink it kept flipping back to hit my lip, so I had to hold it open. This one stays shut if it is shut and doesn't flip back when it is open.
4. The real innovation here is the "whisk" style steel ball that rolls around as you shake and really breaks up any solids you put in there. I have a powdered green tea that dissolves only with difficulty, but the whisk seems to break it up very easily.
5. It is easy to clean -- I keep mine at my office where I don't have a dishwasher, so I wash it by hand between uses -- and because the lines are clean and because it is fairly wide at the opening, I can reach in there with a sponge and really get it clean.
If you are in the market for a shaker bottle I can't imagine you'll find one better than this one.
Customer Review: Not 100% perfect, but close!

I'm giving this a 5 star review even though it has a few flaws because they don't really bother me that much and besides that it's perfect. So first to the flaws:
1) The measurement lines are really hard to read (but I barely use them)
2) I guess if you use it a lot (and I use mine all day, every day, even just for water), you might find that every once in a long while the paint from the label will come off on your fingers. Not exactly sure what happened here (definitely wasn't from heat or anything since I've only had it in a Boston winter). This has only happened once or twice in the months that I've been using it, but no big deal, just washed it off.
Besides that, this this is amazing, especially for the crazy low price. The seal is super tight - no leaking. It breaks up protein quickly and uniformly - even casein (I'm using ON Gold Standard) - no clumps.
Some people have complained about leaking and here are my guesses to what their "leaking" is:
1) They aren't completely shutting the top - it will actually make a "pop" sound when you close it. I kinda like making a fist and giving it a quick hit - POP. It's fun
2) They aren't completely screwing the cap on all the way. This thing is very sturdily built. The first few times I used it, I closed it "tight," but didn't want to strip the top or something, so I did it kinda tight. Since then, I've gained confidence in the product and use my muscles and really tighten it. Make sure you do too.
3) A lot of times, the bottle or cover will have extra water on it from when you were filling it. When you shake-shake-shake, any water that is on the bottle will go flying everywhere obviously. It's just water though... if it bothers you, give the outside a quick wipe after you tighten the lid and pop the top.
All in all, I really love this thing and have been recommending it to all my friends.

Unfortunately, I bought mine at a retail store for more than what is listed on Amazon. Gah! I just happened to see them in the store and thought they were worth the $8, and in my opinion after using them they are, but I wish I had checked Amazon first!
I am using these every day now instead of my electric blender. I have three 28-ounce blender bottles - in green, blue, and hot pink. I drink two 16-ounce protein shakes per day and these blend them perfectly with very little effort on my part. So great to be able to drink out of the same container I use to blend! I also used one this week to help make some sugar free chocolate pudding. I just blended the milk and pudding mix in the blender bottle before pouring the mixture into a saucepan to boil - it made a perfectly smooth pudding with no lumps! And I didn't have to hassle with my electric blender. Yay!
Super easy clean up - although I could put them in the dishwasher if I wanted to, I usually just wash them by hand because the wide opening makes it so easy to clean. The blender ball itself is also just as easy to clean. I no longer have to cautiously clean sharp blades of an electric blender. There are no stains after weeks of daily use, and no lingering odor after being washed - some of my other drink containers end up smelling weird after a while, but these DO NOT. Also, I haven't had any leaks or spills with the cap on.
The other advantage is that it doesn't put as much air into the drink like an electric blender does - just a little bit of froth on the top that disappears pretty quickly. This means that I don't have to wait an hour for air bubbles to dissipate before drinking my protein shakes.
I can not say enough good things about this product! I will probably be buying the short blender bottles as well via Amazon, just to have on hand.

I've owned this bottle for about a month. I use it once a day to mix whey protein powder with milk (usually skim). Prior to buying this I was using a wire whisk to mix the powder in a glass and getting large clumps with dry centers floating on top of the shake, and residue in the bottom of the glass. Not only did it not taste great, it was a waste of the $$$ protein.
I haven't had a problem since I bought this bottle. Pour in the milk (or whatever else you prefer), dump in a scoop or two of powder, drop the wire ball on top, make sure the top is snapped tightly, screw on securely, and shake to your heart's content. I usually shake vigorously for around 30 seconds. Not only does the bottle mix the shakes thoroughly, shaking a little longer makes them frothy and smooth. I haven't had any trouble with clumps, and when I finish the shake, there's no undissolved powder or clumps left in the bottom or on the sides.
The bottle is well-made. Sturdy plastic walls, and the drink spout snaps so securely it's sometimes takes extra effort to get it open. The result is that I have not spilled a drop on my floors, counters or anything else since using the bottle.
Clean up is super easy. A quick hand wash in soap and water, and I think the ball is even dishwasher safe, though if you wash it right after you use it, it cleans up effortlessly.
No clumps. Smooth, tasty protein drinks. Super easy to use and clean, and it's small and light enough to toss in my gym bag, with powder already in it. Just add milk or water and you've got an instant shake, anywhere.
Highly recommended. I may buy another one just for convenience.

I bought the 28 ounce version (GNC branded one) and after having used it for a week, Love it. I've been mainly using it for mixing protein powder and thus far have used milk, water, peanut butter and some fruit with no problems and no clumps.
So the pros:
-It fits in my hand well. It's easy grip design has never left me worrying about dropping it or losing my grip on it.
-It cleans very easily.
-The screw top is tight enough that I can shake vigorously and not have it pop off.
-The flip top snaps down firmly as well. Never had any leaks.
-The wonderball mixes as good as if I used a blender. It compresses down flat which makes cleaning it a breeze
-Ounce and millimeter markings
I haven't had any cons yet and doubt I will. I just wish I bought more than one at the time. The one thing that should be mentioned is not to overload the bottle. If you load it to the top or close to the top, it won't mix as well. So, if you are using a lot of ingredients at once to mix, make sure there's enough room for it to get mixed. I'll definately be ordering more of these to have on hand.
