That's how I like my coffee. Hot! And those popular coffeemakers just don't cut it. Without the gas stove one day, I put 3 eggs in the water for over an hour and half, and whoooola! The eggs boiled in the hot water. I just plugged and unplugged a few times for fresh heat.
It is rare that I see people using these Farberware coffeemakers, and for some reason they are stuck with those dreadful Mr. Coffee-type-things. This is a percolator, meaning it brews coffee OR, simply use it as a drip coffee maker. Either way, it works great! And it just takes minutes.
But I love these coffeepots, mainly because the coffee comes out nice and hot! That's right the coffee is hot, and it stays hot. You don't have to worry about warm coffee here. You can leave it plugged and it will maintain the heat for long time. Unfortunately there isn't a light indicator that states the pot is still plugged.
The innards!
The pot comes with the innards, the stem, and coffee holder and the lid over the coffee holder. I use a standard filter, poke a hole with the stem and within minutes, the aroma of good hot coffee.
I have had a few and will always use a Farberware coffeepot!....Rizzo

I've owned my Farberware Perc for over 25 years. I have a second one I got an excellent deal on as a back-up. Yes they've both been repaired but they're still going strong.
For the thermostat problem I'd suggest going to a suggested repair place that is in the folder with the pot and have the repairman show you how simple it is to do your own replacing. Then stock up on the parts needed. There seemed to be a streak/batches of bad thermostats that just didn't last long. The currant one has been in use for at least 5 years. There's another part in it that can go bad too, but I'm drawing a blank right now on what it's called.
I love the ease of "perking" a pot of water with half a scoop of Oxyclean in it. Cleans up the pot in a flash and soooooo easy! Ours is in use constantly so fast and easy is the game when it's time to clean the pot. The clean pot makes the best tasting coffee. It gets pretty sad tasting when the pot is dirty.
I have to edit the cleaning part. I just got "new and improved Oxyclean" and it's got a much larger scoop in it. So I have to suggest using 2 teaspoons or a tablespoon of Oxyclean to a pot of water. Still works just as well as I just cleaned my pot.

The Farberware Percolator we have is over 20 years old and we lost the cord during our kitchen remodle. Instead of a new cord I ordered a new Farberware Percolator. This may be the last coffee pot we will buy. The price was excellent.

I've had problems in the past with coffee not being hot enough - not with this percolator! It brews a good, hot cup of coffee each time. The only negative I can think of is the instructions recommend that after you brew the coffee that you take the cup with the grinds out of the percolator while it warms. There really isn't an easy way of doing that since they are metal and you will burn your hand each time unless you use a mitt of some kind. It says you don't have to use a filter but I use a standard coffee maker filter and push it in so that clean up is easier.Customer Review: Pleased as punch over coffee percolator

I got so tired of breaking and not being able to replace glass coffee carafes. Not to mention they can be bulky in a smaller
kitchen. This percolator makes 12 cups of great coffee in
minimum time, 12 minutes tops maybe less. I just used the coffee I had on hand with no problems. They recommend cleaning the unit
as needed with a drip coffee maker. I have no complains thus far you can keep the coffee warm in the pot without transferring
to a thermos. Easy to clean and store, use with a filter from
Melita for easy to make coffee.
