Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Farberware FCP240 2-4-Cup Percolator, Stainless Steel

Customer Review: It's worth getting a second one, too.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is such a great little percolator that I'm getting a second one. I use to simply use a much larger percolator, but there are some advantages to using a small one like this one -- faster coffee, stays hotter, easier cleaning, etc.. Our coffee tastes GREAT, made in this percolator, and I have tried several methods of coffee making and a few different coffee makers and percolators.

In fact, now my coffee tastes so great that, instead of just getting out of the house for a coffee at a local shop, I sometimes plug in my percolator, then go out (must drive the dog around or take him for a walk) and make my own house my coffee stop!

Customer Review: Reclaim your counter space!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have limited counter space, and my Mr. Coffee 12-cup drip machine was claiming far too much of it. This percolator makes coffee just as well in a fraction of the footprint. And of course, it's easier to stow away in a cabinet then a huge drip machine.

Plus, the coffee is hot right away. In drip machines, the liquid cools down quite a bit by the time it makes it into the pot, and you have to wait for the element to heat it back up.

I'll still haul out the Mr. Coffee when I need a large quantity - for dinner parties and the like - but this little percolator makes for a good daily brew.

Customer Review: Farberware FCP240 2-4 cup Percolator
Summary: 5 Stars

Top quality product that completes brewing cycle very quickly and keeps coffee hot.
Water filled to the top line provides 2 large mugs of coffee.

Bought first percolator (8-10 cup size) 40 years ago and was so satisfied that I bought same model when time came to replace the first pot.

Then tried $10 Poly-Perk a couple of times but was not really pleased with the plastic construction and shorter life of heating element, so went back to Farberware for the 2-4 cup model about 15 years ago. Just bought second replacement for it, so average life has been about 5 years.

Customer Review: Great litle pot!
Summary: 5 Stars

Update!!
It has been 18 months since I purchased this coffee pot and it is still going strong. It is sad to see so many bad reviews on this product but I guess like anything else, you wither get a dud or a great product.

I've been using this pot everyday for three weeks and it has performed flawlessly. A full pot makes 24 ounces of hot coffee. Which is enough for two "normal size "cups in the morning. I'm also using less coffee than I do with my drip machine. That may well translate into $$$ saved over the course of the year.

This item is highly recommended.

Customer Review: Purchased this as a gift for someone else . . .
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this as a replacement for a drip coffee maker. This was given to my mother, who for years used a percolator. When her Farberware percolator died back in the 70's, she bought a drip coffeemaker. She NEVER felt that drip coffee makers did justice to coffee and always vowed that when her drip coffee maker died, she would go back to a percolator. As she is now cutting back on the amount of coffee she drinks, this was the perfect size for her. Her report back to me after the first pot she brewed was simply this, "This is how coffee was meant to be prepared - absolutely delicious!!"
