Coffee pot works well and makes good, flavorful coffee. The Amazon price is the best one you'll find on this item; all the others were at least $20 more. Coffee pot is cheerfully noisy, as all percolators are, and gets the job done fairly fast (percs always take longer than drip, remember). The only thing missing from this unit is a light that goes on while you are percolating, and either goes off or changes color when it's done. You simply have to listen to tell when it's finished. But other than that, no complaints! I've found Farberware to be a good brand, and as long as you keep the pot and its components clean (free of oily coffee buildup) and don't get water in the electricals, you should be fine. Also, to get the best flavor, you might want to use a non-chlorinated bottled water (rather than tap, if you are running city water). I have found that to make a decided difference in any coffee making.Customer Review: Love my little perker

I gave up on drip coffee makers because I like really HOT coffee -- cannot be TOO hot! This is perfect for using daily. It makes great hot coffee surprisingly quickly. The two things I would point out is [1] don't make more than you will drink within just a few minutes because the coffee becomes burned tasting within about 10 minutes, and [2] this little guy pulls 1000 watts -- that's a lot of electricity. For this reason I make enought for two mugs and unplug it after is stops perking. This keeps the second mugful from tasting old and also saves on power.
I do recommend this product -- just wish they were still made in the USA. I paid $19.99 for mine at Macy's one day sale with a $10 coupon. Don't pay more than $30. I noticed people on eBay paying up to $50 for this same unit.

I am so happy I decided to buy this coffee maker. I am the only coffee drinker in my house and wanted a small machine that would produce hot, delicious coffee without stealing away my precious counter-space. My previous coffee maker was a drip machine, and I was concerned that I would not like the percolator. It turned out to be a simple machine that produced very hot coffee (even for someone like me with a high heat tolerance), very fast, and with excellent flavor. It takes more effort to clean out the grounds and refill for a fresh pot than a drip machine, and there is no auto shut-off, but this is a reasonable trade-off for the great coffee I get to drink every morning. I only make coffee at home on the weekends and I had the typical 4-cup drip drip type coffee maker. Problem was it took so damn long for it to make a pot of coffee--I was having caffeine withdrawal waiting for it to finish brewing. This Fabreware 4-cup maker is SUPER FAST. By the time I get my cup out of the cupboard an the milk out of the fridge and sit down it's done brewing--yes, it's THAT fast! Plus, it's extremely high-quality, thick stainless steel. It's quite a beautiful little pot that I now keep out on the countertop. Actually, the best part of it is my parents always had Fabreware percolators when I was growing up and this brings back a lot of memories of them everytime I sit down for my weekend coffee (sniff!)Customer Review: Coffee the Way It's Supposed to Be!

I'm not a coffee snob. I don't go to Starbucks, or any of the other trendy coffee shops. But I like a good cup of coffee and for years have been disappointed with drip coffee makers. The drip kind just don't taste like the coffee I remember from years ago!
The FCP240 coffee percolator makes coffee the way I remember it - A bold cup of coffee with flavor that is not diminished with cream and sugar! It makes 4 cups of coffee in 4 minutes (really) and that's quicker than the 4 cup Mr. Coffee I used before.
There is just no comparison between drip-brewed coffee and percolated coffee. Percolated coffee tastes better and the Farberware FCP240 is perfect for one or two coffee drinkers!
