Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker TCM830 10-Cup Thermal Stainless-Steel CoffeemakerCustomer Review: Solid Coffee Summary: 4 Stars
This thing simply works. It hasn't leaked, the pot keeps the coffee hot for the couple of hours it takes me and my wife drink our 2+ cups of coffee each. The removable water tank is a good feature and, happily, will stand up by itself in the sink. The little hole on the back of it to keep it from being overfilled is somewhat annoying because it easily spills when I'm moving it back to the coffee maker. The button design is a bit cumbersome in that you press it once to start the coffee right away and then press the same button again to shift it to the timer. A separate button for the timer function would have been a good idea.
Overall, though, the coffee is good, the pot works very well and the machine seems a good one.
Customer Review: MORE PROS THAN CONS Summary: 4 Stars
Black & Decker TCM830 10-Cup Thermal Stainless-Steel CoffeemakerI PURCHASED MY COFFEE MAKER A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND OVERALL LIKE IT. I FIND IT IS A BIT CLUMSY THOUGH AND SEATING THE POT DIRECTLY UNDER THE SPRING-LOADED COFFEE OUTLET IS A BIT TRICKY. YOU ONLY DO IT WRONG ONCE, HOWEVER, BECAUSE THE ENTIRE POT OF COFFEE ENDS UP ALL OVER THE COUNTER IF NOT CORRECTLY PLACED. THE COFFEE ONLY STAYS FAIRLY WARM FOR A FEW HOURS THOUGH I RARELY REMEMBER TO PUT HOT WATER IN THE THERMOS POT TO PREHEAT IT BEFORE BREWING. IT MAKES VERY GOOD COFFEE AND GENERALLY I LIKE IT. IT DESERVES 4 STARS.
Customer Review: Good ol' Black & Decker! Summary: 4 Stars
I've only used it for about a month, so I can't attest to its durability, but in every other way this product gives satisfaction and at about half the price of the fancy-schmancier brands. I wanted a cone-filter, thermal-carafe, programmable coffeemaker and this product met all those specifications. The only criticisms I might have are that the base that the carafe sits on is a little slidy, so you have to be careful that it's sitting properly. The programming requires a teensy learning curve, at least for someone my age (50-something). Overall, it works great!
Customer Review: Works Good, No Problems, A Bit Bulky... Summary: 4 Stars
This coffee maker was a replacement for a "hot plate" model of a diffrent brand. I have been using it for one month now & have no major complaints. I make about 6 cups a day. 4 to bring to work in a thermos and 2 to drink in the morning. It makes an ok cup of coffee. I have used both pre-ground and non pre-ground coffee beans that I grind my self in a Black & Decker coffee grinder. The unit is a big bulky and comes close to hitting the bottom of my cabinets, but the stanless-steel look works well with the other kitchen gadgets on the counter.
Customer Review: Good Machine for the money Summary: 4 Stars
I wasn't intending to buy a coffee maker with a thermal carafe because I used to pour the coffee into one immediately after brewing on my old machine. But after extensive research this one had a carafe and a reasonable price. So far after three weeks of more than one pot per day, this machine has done well. Its a little annoying to put the carafe back under the brew basket due to the spring loaded stopper for the pour-while-brewing feature but I wouldn't hesitate recommending the machine for that reason.
