Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker TCM830 10-Cup Thermal Stainless-Steel Coffeemaker

Customer Review: Search no further!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are searching for a coffee maker that has a removable reservoir/water tank and a thermal pot, search no further. The Black & Decker TCM830 is all that and more. The coffee is hot, even hours after it is brewed. Our Starbucks Barista Aroma 8-cup was recalled due to electrical problems, and I didn't think I'd be able to replace it. But this one has and even brews a better (hotter) cup of coffee. Only con: it took reading the instructions a few times to figure out how to set the timed auto brew (hit the button twice). Nice job Black & Decker!

Customer Review: Excellent!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an excellent coffee maker, for an unbelievably low price - I bought mine at Lowe's for $49.99. CONE filters produce better tasting coffee AND use less coffee to do it. The thermal pot keeps the coffee HOT for several hours.

YES, you have to put the pot in the right place. Gee, it really isn't difficult.

I bought a Mr. Coffee first, similar style and the caraffe was impossible to open. Also the basket filter used so much coffee it seemed wasteful. THIS coffee maker is great!!

Customer Review: Great coffeemaker
Summary: 5 Stars

I had an old Black & Decker coffeemaker with a plastic carafe that worked very well, and bought this one when I dropped the carafe and chipped the top. This new one is even better and quicker to use. The cone shaped filter basket seems to need less coffee to make the same strength, and is easier to insert, remove and clean. The water tank conveniently lifts right out with easy to read marks to fill at the sink; no need for filling a separate jug and pouring in. And easy to use programmer for morning coffee.

Customer Review: Workhorse coffee brewer (saves energy too)
Summary: 5 Stars

I really love this coffee brewer. We run an average of 1 to 2 pots of Peets every day and it does a great job. I have always preferred the thermal carafe to the glass pots because it saves energy not having the hot plate and the coffee stays fresh longer and does not get burned. The stainless steel finish is really easy to keep clean too. The only slight issue is that you need to make sure the carafe is centered under the filter funnel carefully.

Customer Review: My in-house Cofee Bar
Summary: 5 Stars

This machine is perfectly suited for brewing and serving hot coffee on typical mornings in my home. Also I found that it was quite convenient when I recently entertained guests who spent a couple of nights. The caraffe keeps the brew hot and fresh for hours, ready for early and later risers alike. The simple yet rugged design is a plus as well and seems likely to provide years of trouble free operation and is a bargain for the price.
