I have owned a can opener like this for years. During the Christmas holidays, when one is opening all kinds of cans, it broke! Well, I immediately got online to find another one like it if I could. Well, I did, ordered it, and it is being used a lot again!!! Of course, Christmas Eve and Day, I had to use a manual one! lol Anyway, it opens any size can, and it fits the hand very comfortably. I have had the smaller version of it, and it was not comfortable to use even though it said 'ergo'. I think that is the term. Anyway, this one is perfect to use. Of course, it depends on your preferences, but I find this great little can opener to be the best I have owned in my entire life, and I am 64 years old! I have had this opener for 9 years and finally had to replace it. I have tried many other models, but none of them could beat this one, at least not for me. It used to be sold at Target and many other stores but because of a reason unknown to mankind it disappeared from their shelves. First attempt of using it can be frustrating if you don't do it right. Just be patient and make sure both small ledges of the opener sit on top of a can. After you get it right you'll start enjoying it as I have been for all these years. If you want it to last, don't keep adapter plugged in all the time. There are nickel-cadmium batteries inside. They need to be completely discharged before recharging to last longer.Customer Review: LOve this and am buying a 2nd after 5 years of use!

This took about 5 tries before I got the hang of how to fit it onto the can properly, but after that it was a breeze. I love that I can take it anywhere in the kitchen and open stuff, but I always know where it is because I store it on the charger. I have never experienced the low charger problems other people have complained about, perhaps because I always place it back on the charger. It's not that hard to figure out where the groove is for the charger to slide into in order to charge properly. This is the best can opener I've ever owned: small, portable, opens any size can, comfortable to hold, & I've been cooking and baking nearly 30 years!Customer Review: Love it so much I am buying one to reserve!

Best automatic can opener I have ever owned, and I have used up at least 4 or 5 in forty years. I have moderate Carpal Tunnel symptoms, and this helps avoid aggravating that condition. I find it easy to use on really large cans, unlike plug-in designs. Blade assembly does not come out unintentionally, and it is, again, easiest to clean of any I have used. It does not hold a strong charge left more than 24 hours outside cradle, but you just need to keep it in its charger. Get used to glancing at the notch which means it is seated properly in the charger. I agree, it would not work well for a left-hander. But then, what model does?Customer Review: B&D redeemed self

I mailed this can opener back to Black & Decker with an explanation and they sent me a new and different model. They redeemed themselves in my estimation. I am more than satisfied with the result.

I used this Black and Decker Cordless Can Opener a dozen times and the battery went Kaput. It will not charge and does not have enough umph to open a single can.
