This is great for people with arthritis or any problem with hands. It is easy to use, powerful motor that opens the most stubborn jar and does not take up much counter space. I bought it for my wife who had a stroke last fall and doesn't have much hand strength. She can open any can or jar with no problem using this machine. Don't ruin your hands anymore trying to pry open tightly closed jars. My 82 year old mom gave me this - she has arthritis and has had the same one for a few years. It seems large - but it really serves alot of purposes. My husband and I are both in our 80's. I have arthritis and so with arthritis and old age we were finding it very difficult to open our favorite jars of fruit from the produce dept. The Black and Decker Lids Off opens the jars without spilling any juice. Even the can opener seems better than my old electric can opener. I find this Lids Off Open-it-all Center to be one of my most prized kitchen appliances. I have it on my counter top so it is handy to use when the occasion arises. I am 85 years of age and find it easy to use and certainly handy. We are very pleased with the jar and can opener.
We are in our late 70's, and opening jars can often be tough on hands and wrists.
Once you read, and follow, the instructions, this kitchen appliance is efficient and easy to use. A welcome addition to the kitchen counter.
