This jar opener is a wonder! It's actually fun to use. I at first purchased the $20 kind that works automatically by itself - but it broke the second time I used it! I was a bit of a skeptic about this product when it first came out, but an elderly family member could no longer open jars and I thought it would make a great gift. I wasn't wrong. I have tendinitis in both hands and had been having much difficulty opening jars (even had to get my 13 year old son to open jars for me). Since getting this it's no longer an issue. This product is invaluable. It works really well and would make a great holiday gift.Customer Review: yes and no

I Think the concept is magnificent. It also seemed to work pretty good too. The only flaw being when it is fully extended to accept a jar it is approxamtly 20 inches high, and when sitting on a counter top was too tall and heavy for my 75 year old mother to lift.Customer Review: Black & Decker Lids Off Automatic Jar Opener

My mother-in-law loves her new gadget. Since this was a gift, it would have been nice to have the ability to not send a receipt and attach a giftcard. They might add this feature in the future for other customers in this situation.
