Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker JW200 Lids Off Jar Opener, WhiteCustomer Review: Sturdy counts Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, it is a bit large. But it is so superior to that small "seen-on-TV" hand-held motorized version at Carol Wright that costs about $20. Carol Wright's had plastic gears and mine broke when I used it on a jar with too big a lid. So I went hunting and found this Black and Decker version for a little over $20 used. It has metal gear parts instead of the Carol Wright plastic gears to squeeze the lid. Don't have to worry about batteries. Nothing could be easier or more reliable. Highly recommended for anyone with arthritis.
Customer Review: Arthritis buster! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my father who has sever rhumatiod arthritis. Opening jars, bottles anything with a screw top was almost impossible for him. Not any more! If this can impress even the most grumpy set in his way old men then its perfect for anyone.
He ran around seeing what he could open! Now he doesnt feel like he "cant" now he can. And for someone with this disease thats a huge obstacle.
I have seen it in action though. This baby ROCKS! It will with out a doubt open ANYTHING that you can fit in it!
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 82 year old mother who has arthritis very bad in her hands. She would have to wait for days until someone would come over to her house to open a jar for her. Not anymore! I sent this directly to her house. When it came, she opened it, read the instructions, and opened two jars by herself. She was amazed of how easy it was. Everytime I talk to her on the phone, she thanks me for getting this for her. She loves it and loves the independence it gives her.
Customer Review: I've been waiting for a product like this!! Summary: 5 Stars
What a great appliance! It's so easy to use and opens jars of all sizes (so far, jam, green olives, cocktail sauce, etc.) I used to save up all the jars I couldn't open for a "strong" friend to open. No more. [It does take away that small bit of everyday entertainment that arises when several people pass a jar back and forth trying to open it] But it's so much better and faster to just put the jar in the opener; this is one appliance that stays on the kitchen counter.
Customer Review: Save your hands and wrists Summary: 5 Stars
My husband bought this for me when it was first introduced because we both struggled over a jar that wouldn't open. The only bad thing I have to say is that he paid full price. Actually, it works so well that I don't care what it costs. It has never failed to open what I needed opened. Since then, I have gifted a friend (at the Friday sale price, which is a terrific deal) who has both carpel tunnel and arthritis in her hands. She loves it also...who wouldn't?
