I am truly impressed with this steamer - it steamed 4 very large artichokes into tender leaves and a "heart" of pure delight. I would definitely recommend it to anyone - it's large capacity is a real bonus, yet you have the option of using just one level for smaller amounts of food. I bought this online since I couldn't find a similar style in my local stores. I use this steamer all the time, it is almost identical to an older steamer that I was replacing when I bought it. I purchased the Black & Decker Flavor-Scenter Steamer Deluxe Food Steamer for myself, and I liked it SOOO much, that I bought this Double Decker Steamer for my sister. We try to eat healthy, and this has helped out a lot. It is easy to use and easy to clean....just throw it in the dishwasher.Customer Review: Great for Tamales!

I specifically bought this steamer for tamale-making. It was fantastic! Each container holds about 12 medium sized tamales and they were all cooked perfectly. The timer was for 75 minutes and it was the easiest thing to figure out. I haven't tried the flavor-scenter yet but it will be fun!
