Overall this is a great product for a very low cost. The timer is easy to use. It is also easy to clean(that's always a plus). The double deck is also nice when cooking large quantities or 2 different foods. If you cook a lot of veggies, this is a MUST have product.
**For all the people that got no direction booklet, I didn't either. I did however get all the directions and times on a sticker on the back of the machine. **

I have used my steamer all summer. It is terrific! We have 'steamed veggie dinners' all summer long. The dual basket is great...put the potatoes, carrots, onion, etc. in the first basket and when it is almost done I add the second basket filled with zucchine, squash and broccoli for the final few minutes. VOILA...a wonderful healthy dinner.
The rice steamer works great, too. No more mushy rice. I highly recommend it!

This is a very nice addition to our kitchen. It makes for fast and healthy food preparation. A nice benefit is the weight loss that comes from eating steamed vegetables. In about a month I have lost 15 lbs. We cook almost any kind of vegetable and even cook eggs in the steamer. We also purchased one for our daughter to encourage her to eat healthy. We took the advice of many other reviews and purchased this product. We absolutely love it! Our vegetables cook to perfection, and the rice never tasted so good. Be sure to get on Black & Decker's site and get their instruction booklet immediately. I did, and was ready to use the steamer as soon as I opened the box. Love it! Favorite steamer I've ever owned. Love the double-decker feature. It steams a lot of corn (which I steam like 4 days a week in the summer)--as well as other veggies--very well. Have never used it for anything else--don't know how meat turns out. Is a bit of a pain to clean out (like most steamers) and do watch for steam-related burns (true of any steamer, of course!).
