UPDATE AGAIN: 09/03/2008
Still loving my Home Cafe! Just bought refillable pods so I can make the coffee even less expensive. Can't wait. I just love getting my coffee in the morning and not having to feel guilty about wasting a whole pot because I'm the only one here who drinks coffee. Still works great - I even knocked it to the kitchen floor once (just talented that way) and it still works great.

Still loving my coffee maker. No problems brewing. Just follow the instructions in the manual. And, the one tip the manual doesn't mention but isn't too hard to figure out... Definitely compress your pod before you put the lid down. Just give it a few pats after it's in the proper-size holder so it's all flat on top. Makes complete sense because it's a pressure brewing system - flat = even pressure....

A friend gave us these creamy coffee pods - she didn't have the machine and had bought the wrong stuff at the store. I fiddled around with the pod and managed to make a pretty tasty cup of coffee with it without the machine, but it was a lot of effort. I really enjoyed the coffee though, so I decided, what the heck, buy a machine and see if it's really worth it. The machine wasn't much money, so I gave it a try. Wow! This thing is easy to use, and makes excellent coffee - I'm never going back to a Seattle-based chain again. On top of the ease of use is the speed. This machine can put out a nicely brewed cup of joe in 60-90 seconds. Additionally, the cost is so much less when compared to chain store coffees. For the classic, regular cup of coffee, the cost is about 30 cents, for a creamy pod, about 53 cents per cup. If you do the math, the machine pays for itself in about 10 cups or less (compared to coffee chain average prices). Not to mention the time you save not having to drive through or, much worse, go into a coffee shop. Overall, an excellent purchase - highly recommended.
