Customer Review: Finally, fuss-free cans

I guess I'm mechanically challenged. I have had 4 standard electric can openers that I just cannot work. I get mad and usually give up. I have difficulties with my hands that prohibit the use of manual can openers so I was running out of options.
Then I found the Gizmo. I got one really cheap when the Service Merchandise stores went out of business in my area. Now, two years later, I am still thrilled with my little Gizmo. It works great all the time, every time. I have opened large cans (larger than recommended), small cans, and everything in between. I just clip it on and let it run. Small cans like tuna or cat food need to be held, but holding them sideways over the sink allows the juices to drain while it opens. It's pretty cool.
I have never had any issues with battery life. It runs for about 3-4 weeks between charges. I use it 5-6 days a week every week and I have never had a problem. My first one broke after only a month, but that was my fault since I dropped it. I immediately bought another and I've never looked back.

I've had my Gizmo for 8 years (bought it when they first came out) and it finally pooped out on me. I am buying another on Amazon and saw that it got some sad reviews so I thought I'd share.
You stick it on the can and the thing goes around all by itself. This means you can move on the other things while it opens!! If you are a multi-tasker in the kitchen (or last minute & always in a hurry cause your peop's are hungry) you can imagine how great this is!!
Once you get the hang of how to put the can under the Gizmo, there are no trouble's, even with stiff hands... happy Gizmo'ing!

I'm completely baffled by the people who don't like the Gizmo. I think it's great. We use it all the time, openning all sizes of cans. It's never been a problem for us, and has been able to open every can we tried. It holds a charge for a long time, and recharges easily (just stick it in the recharger). I'm particularly baffled by the guy who mounted it over the toaster then blamed the manufacturer when it melted (DUH!). I imagine at some point the rechargeable batteries will die out, but then that's what rechargeable batteries do.Customer Review: surprisingly effective

I'm surprised at the other less-than-enthusiastic reviews for this product. Frankly, I think it's the best can opener I've ever had! I've been using it for about a year or a little longer, and open a lot of cans for my pets as well as in daily cooking. It's always opened cans of every shape and size for me. However, I will say that my grandmother has sometimes had difficulty lining up the blade on cans, and it does take some getting used to. But I've really loved this product and would not hesitate to recommend it.Customer Review: love this little GIZMO

I got interested in this can opener when I saw it on TV, but was really sold on it when I tried it for the first time. I use it all of the time and it has even worked well for large cans. I also like the fact that I can keep it in my drawer between uses and it keeps its charge well. It is such a great little opener that, after watching me use it, my father has requested two of them for himself - one for the house and one for his camper! I would recommend this product to anyone.
