After using a Salton waffle iron for 15+ years, it finally quit working so I researched new waffle makers here on Amazon. Read many reviews and decided on this model. It is fantastic! I followed the directions for lightly coating with cooking oil first and then tried it out. The waffles were perfect! Cooked through ... light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside -- but not burned. You can even adjust the cooking temp if you like them softer and not crispy. And, clean up was a snap. Nothing stuck. Virtually no mess! A great waffle maker for the price! And, if that was not all, it has reversable grill plates so it also makes great grilled cheese sandwiches. I recently received my latest copy of Cook's Illustrated, and they featured this in the section called " Best Small Appliances". My brother was soon to have his 70th birthday, and had asked for a waffle maker. I remembered the article in the magazine, and found the same product on Amazon.com. Not only did Amazon offer free shipping on the item, but it was several bucks cheaper thru Amazon! It was shipped right to my door in just a few days in perfect condition!! My brother has since told me it is the best waffle/grill maker he's ever had!!
I certainly would recommend this product, plus Amazon for having this item in stock and such punctual shipping!

This Black & Decker Grill and Waffle Baker is the best! I grew up with Mom using this same waffle maker and it still works like new. I decided to get my son and daughter-in-law one since I've enjoyed mine over the years.
It makes the perfect waffle and you can flip the irons over to make a griddle for eggs, bacon, or even grilled cheese sandwiches.
It's easy to clean too. Just remove the griddles and wash them in warm soapy water, let them dry, and snap them back in place.
Be sure to spray the waffle side good with Pam first so the waffles won't stick. This waffle maker cooks four waffles at the time so everyone can eat together while more are cooking.

We received a waffle iron for a wedding present that finally died. I tried replacing it but found that finding "american style waffle irons" was harder than I thought. The one I bought at target made them big and fat, which the hubbie did not care for. That waffle iron was donated to the church. I looked and looked and finally found this one online and ordered it for Father's Day. The hubbie/dad said it was the best waffle he had ever eaten and now wants them every week after not having them for several years! Yes the metal part is hot, but if you use the handle no problem. The first waffle was perfect as were all the rest, be sure to oil the plates before adding the batter though!Customer Review: Just what I was looking for

I had been searching for a new waffle iron after my very old one finally died. My family does not like belgium waffles so I wanted the classic waffler. All I could find was the round Cuisinart which would make waffles one at a time, too slow for me! So I found this one here on Amazon and jumped at it. It makes great waffles. The light feature is something my old waffler didn't have and I've come to appreciate it. The Black and Decker model also does other neat stuff. I've used the flat sides of the plates to press sandwiches, its like a pannini without the grill marks. My husband loved them. I haven't yet used it open face to make pancakes yet, but I'm sure it's great at that also.
