i go to school full time and work and this food steamer is my best friend! it makes cooking dinner so easy! i can put in rice, veggies, whatever in there, set the timer, and do housework or homework while its cooking.
rice comes out great everytime, veggies are so easy to cook, and apples are SOOOO good steamed in this. very easy to clean, and definately, DEFINATELY worth it! (i'd even pay twice as much as i did for it.)Customer Review: Lasted 7 years

I had this steamer for 7 years, and used it nearly every night. I found it did a great job with rice, vegies, and chicken. Everything, really. A couple of months ago the timer wore out on it, though. I'll need to buy another one, and am thinking of upgrading to the Black & Decker Divided Food Steamer so that I can cook rice and veggies at the same time.
This steamer was a great investment.

This steamer is the best! I have had mine for more than five years now and it still steams the most perfect vegetables. It's also very versatile in that it does rice and meats (shrimp is particularly good in this unit). This steamer is so easy to use and clean, and it's so much healthier than the microwave, which removes all the vitamins from your food. I purchased this in March 2003, it is now September, believe me when I say I use this every single day, it is really GREAT! I steam my meats and watch all the fat collect in the water basin. It is easy to clean up and my food comes out tasting great. Once you refill the reservoir you can set it for up to one hour and just walk away, it takes care of everything, no worry about burning. This thing has been great! We mainly use it for steaming rice and vegtables. We set the timer before we go work out and the rice is ready to go when we get back! It just couldn't be simpler. Its great when a simple item just does exactly what its supposed to do. We have had this for at least 3 years and its still going. We'll get another one just like it if anything happens. Thanks B&D!
