This item was a replacement purchase for an older model of the same that I had used for years. I'm well pleased with the improved product, especially the more durable food basket. This is a must item in my kitchen. Thank you.

Steams well, but only very limited timing instructions are in small print on theside of the steamer. Also does not say if to use another dish
inside and/or the one provided for rice.
CAUTION: Managed to burn outside of two fingers rather badly - handles
on the lid are at sides and steam may hit fingers when removing
lid.

I used the steamer to sterilize baby bottles. I do not use the white bottom tray because it traps too much water. I just use the large clear plastic basket and its cover. 10 min in timer works great to sterilize things. Customer Review: Great steamer, but B&D's service sucks

The timer did not work on our first steamer so we called up B&D for support and they wanted $15.00 to exchange the unit they day it arrived in the mail. It was brand new! We then called Amazon and they straightened up the problem and sent a new steamer that worked, thank you Amazon. B&D support sucks as far as I'm concerned by asking for money to fix/replace a defective unit that was brand new. BTW, the steamer is great and a replacement for an older unit that we wore out the rice bowl, but B&D wanted over $20.00 to replace the plastic bowl, about the price of a new steamer...Customer Review: Food Steamer

I really like this steamer. I use it several times a week for steaming veggies, making hard boiled eggs and steaming fish. It is the perfect size for two to four people. Easy cleanup, simple to use.
