I have bought many kitchen appliances in the past, only to have them find a place in the basement or attic after a few months. This is not only a rice steamer, but an easy way to make your supper every night. I've boiled potatoes, made brown rice, beans, broccoli, and just about anything you can imagine. Put seasonings in the flavor scenter and you practically have an instant meal. Set the timer up to 75 minutes and it has automatic shutoff when the timer rings. We have used our steamer so much, that we are ready for our second. My husband and I both work and go to school, so 'eating out' is out of the question. We find the steamer to be very helpful in preparing a healthy and speedy meal. For example, we put meat in the oven or lower the crock pot (depending on what we are cooking), put rice in the steamer, set the timer and proceed with chores or head out to run local errands. Within the hour, we are ready to sit down to dinner.Customer Review: Remarkable product

I bought this for my boyfriend about four years ago, and have since purchased about six more for gifts. His is still in great condition and is used a couple times a week. I am about to buy a couple more for Christmas gifts now in 2005. Love this product, highly recommend it. P. S. If it can get my nephew to eat broccoli and love it - it's a deal!!!! The flavor scenter makes the biggest difference. We usually put garlic and basil or italian seasoning in the center scenter.Customer Review: One of my favorite kitchen appliances!

I've been really happy with this little steamer. It does exactly what it's supposed to and it does it well. My in-laws, from Germany, were really impressed with it when we made a seafood dinner last summer and it has also doubled as a (small) humidifier when my Chihuahua puppy had a bad chest cold. The steamer's other benefits are that it travels easily to friends' houses for impromptu dinners, it cleans up very quickly and it takes only a small amount of storage space.Customer Review: Best steamer around

I had the previous version for over 10 years. Finally it needed replacing. One improvement over the previous model is the filter disc. The old one would have the steaming "juice" fall directly onto the heating source. That would be hard to clean. This one is much better. But beware, the heat source gets hot, and when the water falls too low, it burns a bit and does not product steam. Just keep the water level up and you will be fine. Love it! Great for making baby food.
