I bought this over 5 years ago when my son was ready to eat solids. I just loved the facilities, idea and concept. It was convenient in the sense that i could throw in my veges, turn it on and leave the house knowing my food would be ready when i got back with out the trouble of having to switch it off. I used it until the basked fell apart. Only thing I would like is for them to include a lid to the rice bowl so if I want to store left overs, I dont have to transfer the food into something else. Other than that, its perfect. I am going to buy my second one soon. oh and one more thing, when i make rice in it, everyone just complements me on how great the rice is done, plus eat the rice when its steaming hot out of the pot...yummmmoooooCustomer Review: A Wonderful Addition to Your Kitchen

This is the second B&D steamer I have owned. This one is slightly smaller than the one I left to my roommates.
If you have a questioned about how much time or water you should use to steam a certain food item all you need to do is look on the back of the steamer. A detailed menu of steamable nutrients wraps the entire backside. It even lists herbs and spices to add to your meal while steaming.
The Black & Decker Food Steamer works seamlessly with the rest of your kitchen appliances. It's quick and quiet.
If this is your first steamer, you'll love it. These things are great. You'll steam more food than you think you will.

This is one of my favorite kitchen appliances. I used to hate making healthy rice because I'd always have to soak and scour the pot after I scorched the bottom. Rice comes out perfect every single time in this and makes the perfect amount for a family of four or five. Veggies are perfect, crisp and colorful. I use mine to make asparagus, artichokes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and anything else I want to cook without nuking or stovetop-cooking to sap the nutrients. It cleans easily and I've had mine for about ten years, and it's still going strong. Do yourself a favor and BUY THIS! (Great for over-steaming veggies for baby food too!)Customer Review: I Love It!

I have had the Black and Decker Rice Cooker for years. It last and lasts. I use it at least three or four times a week. I make everything in it from shrimp, to veggies, to rice and special rice dishes. The kids in my neighborhood were crazy about my rice. I would add a a little bit of red pepper, garlic powder, and dried onions to the rice while it cooked. Right before the rice was finished I would add sharp shredded cheddar cheese and mix it into the rice. It makes a fabulous dish for the kids or a great side dish for adults at dinner. I bought this machine about a month ago to help my husband and I follow a low chloresterol, low fat diet plan. I've lost six pounds and he's lost a whopping 16 1/2 pounds. This machine produces PERFECT brown rice, white rice, brocolli, red potatoes, spinach, carrots and more. Also it is easy to use and clean and is obviously well made. We use it on average 3X a week or more. The results are always delicious and neither of us feels like we're eating "diet" food. We are both VERY pleased and impressed with this product and are even considering purchasing a second machine so that we can steam rice and vegetables at the same time.
