Don't pass this item over because it is inexpensive - try it & you'll like it! This is the best $20 that you will ever spend on a kitchen gadget. A nice little tool that sees a lot of use. It never sees the cabinet, and has a permanent place on the countertop. We use ours primarily for steaming rice & vegetables - but as others have pointed out it can get as creative as you are.

I love this rice steamer. It's made of plastic so I don't have to worry about scratching it or eating aluminum in my rice. Cooks rice perfectly every time and makes the house smell especially nice if you make Basmati or Jasmine rice. I've only used the steamer and herb tray once, but it worked just fine. (*note: I live at a high altitude and usually add an extra 1/4 cup of water to the rice)Customer Review: great little steamer

We had this steamer for many years, and it served us well. We used it daily for rice, steaming veggies, and reheating leftovers. Our family finally outgrew the small rice bowl, and the heating element was beginning to wear out - taking longer to cook grains. We upgraded to the double decker. My husband and I have had this steamer for 5 years and it finally gave out. It makes the best rice, in addition to steaming vegetables perfectly. I tried to find a replacement at a few stores this week and was sorely disappointed when no one had this exact steamer. There's no way I'm trying a new brand - a few minutes of searching online and I've found just what I needed!Customer Review: I LOVE THIS STEAMER!!!

I use this steamer several times every day. It lives on my counter top and I hardly need to use pots and pans anymore. It is so easy to clean and use. I love just being able to quickly dump in some veggies, set the timer and go off to do something. When I hear the bell everything is perfectly steamed and delicious. It is one of the best purchases I have made.
