Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker EHC650 3-Cup 2-Speed Food ChopperCustomer Review: Love it, love it, love it! Summary: 5 StarsMy old Black & Decker food chopper broke that I owned for 10 years at least, so I went and bought other brands of food choppers. I took them all back because they could not compare to the B&D I had. I did a search on Amazon and decided to give this one a try. I absolutely love it! It's so quiet compared to my old one and there is no lining up the cup with the base of the machine like my old one. The large capacity is certainly a plus along with the low/high speeds. I would give this a 5 star and encourage you to buy it. You won't be sorry.
Customer Review: Eh. So so. Summary: 2 StarsLid of chopper won't stay on. Does it's job - marginally. If "chopped" is what you want, keep looking. This thing PULVERIZES. :(
Customer Review: Great Chopper! Summary: 5 StarsI gave two as gifts for Christmas and have gotten great reviews. Now I have chopper envy, since mine is manual.
Customer Review: Perfect for making baby food Summary: 5 StarsWe used this product from the time our baby was 5 months old. We've decided to make our own baby food - from apple sauce, pureed pears, peaches, plums to chopped chicken, pork and vegetables like spinach, carrots, peas, etc. It has worked wonders for us. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who decides not to feed jar food to their baby. I would stay away from the manual food mill sold at baby stores. It created more work as compared to this electric chopper.
PS. This makes excellent mashed potatoes. We use sweet potatoes too. Just prepare in batches, freeze in ice cube trays and when meal time comes, just heat the cube(s) in the microwave. One ice cube equals 1 oz of food so you know exactly how much your baby is getting.
Customer Review: Best by far Summary: 5 StarsMy wife does a lot of chopping in preparing fresh salads for the exotic birds she raises, and she has had several different brands. This Black and Decker is by far the best, especially considering its very reasonable price. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and the two-level blades provide just the right chopping. Her old one tended to turn the vegetables at the bottom into mush, but leave those at the top merely shredded. I was pleased to discover that the plastic non-skid base detaches and doubles as an airtight lid for storing chopped food in the refrigerator. My wife's only complaint is that she must clean the underside of the top section by hand, since it can't be immersed in water. It is easy to clean, however, and a small price to pay for such all-around excellence.
