Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker EHC650 2-Speed Food Chopper with 3-Cup Bowl

Customer Review: Perfect for making baby food
Summary: 5 Stars

We used this product from the time our baby was 5 months old. We've decided to make our own baby food - from apple sauce, pureed pears, peaches, plums to chopped chicken, pork and vegetables like spinach, carrots, peas, etc. It has worked wonders for us. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who decides not to feed jar food to their baby. I would stay away from the manual food mill sold at baby stores. It created more work as compared to this electric chopper.

PS. This makes excellent mashed potatoes. We use sweet potatoes too. Just prepare in batches, freeze in ice cube trays and when meal time comes, just heat the cube(s) in the microwave. One ice cube equals 1 oz of food so you know exactly how much your baby is getting.

Customer Review: Oh my God!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This litte device is a God send to my kitchen!! I absolutely HATE chopping onions. Now this little Black & Decker does it for me. I had tried other types of onion choppers, but didn't like any of them. This guy? Unbelievable! Quarter the onion, put it in, push the pulse button a few times, and voila!! Chopped onions!!! I've also used it to make salsa (works great), and to chop fresh herbs. It's simple to clean and has a handy lid that covers the contents of the bowl if you need to refrigerate it afterwards. Now, of course this isn't a full-size food processor. It's pretty small. But it's become an integral part of my kitchen. And for the price? Are you kidding me??? Why WOULDN'T you want to order one of these??!?! It's my favorite kitchen appliance!

Customer Review: A gem!
Summary: 5 Stars

We didn't know if we would actually use this thing when we first bought it. As it turns out, it sits on the counter at all times and is frequently employed. It's simple to operate, and easy to clean. We don't have to drag the Cuisinart out of the lower cabinet as often. My two adult children, after using it during visits to our house, each purchased one. Some fine herbs are difficult to chop because they stick to the sides, need to be returned to the bottom of the cylinder with a spatula a time or two, but that can be a problem with any similar device. There are smaller choppers available, but they don't handle liquids like this one does. We find the 3 cup capacity about right for most preparations. At around $15, this is an amazing value.

Customer Review: Bought in 2002 and still works great!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have used this product for eight years now and never had any issues and it works great! The blade and the bowl are in perfect working condition. It chops things like onions, garlic, and cilantro really well. I can practically load it to the top and it still works like a charm. The two different speeds are a good feature, but usually I just use the highest speed. Clean up is so easy, as I just immerse the blade and the bowl in the sink and let it soak. You can also put the bowl in the dishwasher on the top rack.

Overall, this product is a must in any kitchen as we have used it at least twice a week for eight years straight. When you do not want to get out your bulky food processor, this is your go-to chopper to have.

Customer Review: best kitchen appliance I own
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this little blender after using my mother-in-law's, I was immediately jealous and had to buy one. I threw in a head of roasted garlic, salt, pepper, a bag of dried porccini mushrooms and olive oil and it created a delicious puree that i used in some onion soup--yum! i'm finding tons of uses for it--salsa, tapenade, pesto, etc. so handy!

I've been keeping it pretty busy ever since it came in the mail (about 3 weeks), and it is reliable, easy to clean, and it even made perfect margaritas (single servings!) in a pinch when my regular blender died on me (perfectly crushed ice, my friends). If i got rid of all my other kitchen gadgets except this one and my rice cooker I could still be perfectly happy:)
