I was doubtful about this product, suspicious that it was gimmicky. For example after I got it I realized one has to clean the underside of the motor unit after use. But it is the first of about 5 or so different choppers in my life that it really seems worth it to use. The assembly, disassembly, and clean-up of other choppers made them borderline on whether it was easier just to chop with a knife. With this chopper I make my own health-oriented versions of hummus and pesto without the irritation of thinking the chopper is taking more time than it is worth.
Plus for the price it is really not much of a concern about long term durability. If one is focusing about parts lasting five years or more, one should whip out the old slide rule and calculate the significant parameters.

My wife does a lot of chopping in preparing fresh salads for the exotic birds she raises, and she has had several different brands. This Black and Decker is by far the best, especially considering its very reasonable price. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and the two-level blades provide just the right chopping. Her old one tended to turn the vegetables at the bottom into mush, but leave those at the top merely shredded. I was pleased to discover that the plastic non-skid base detaches and doubles as an airtight lid for storing chopped food in the refrigerator. My wife's only complaint is that she must clean the underside of the top section by hand, since it can't be immersed in water. It is easy to clean, however, and a small price to pay for such all-around excellence.Customer Review: Does Just What It Said It Would

Great food chopper! It has an incorporated, detachable lid so the chopping chamber can be used for storage. Easy to clean up but be careful of the blades. They are very sharp! All-in-all a very good mini food processor. Makes wonderful pesto and salsa.

I have been using this thing almost daily and it has become my favorite food prep device. I have put it through its paces chopping so many different typs of food and it never fails. Why anyone would give this less than 5 stars based upon performance is beyond me. This truly is one product that delivers as advertised. I don't know if it is still (or ever was) manufactured in the USA but if it is you can certainly feel proud buying American when it comes to this item.

Everything everyone says about this wonderful product is all true.
I gave it to my mom and she kept on raving about. "¡Que Maravilla!" she kep on saying. It's so quiet, she can actually hold a phone conversation and chop at the same time. This was impossible with her previous chopper (a Cuisinart blender base with a chopper attachment).
She has tried so many other choppers over the past 20 years. This Black & Decker Ergo is the best one. She was amazed that it only cost $20. It's:
* superior at chopping.
* easy to use.
* QUIET.
* easy to clean.
I bought it directly from Amazon.com (no third party seller). Her other friends are going to buy it. Black & Decker made a real winner with this one.

I bought this product after my baby refused to eat store bought baby food like Gerbers ect.
This was a good decision, as I could cook fresh vegetables, meats, fresh fruits and puree them to the consisitency needed for baby, and baby was getting freshly made food. He loved the fresh food!
I then would freeze individual portions of each food group-meats, fruits, vegetables in ice cube trays. I would then pop out foods from ice cube trays, and freeze in zip lock-labeled baggies of each food. Then I could pull food from zip-lock baggies, as needed to feed him.
