This is a great food chopper/food processor. I used to laboriously grate potatoes on a hand grader for potato pancakes. Now in less than two minutes I have ultra fine potatoes for batter. I used to have an electric food chopper than pureed the food, I didn't mind that so much yet with the B & D food chopper I now have tiny pieces of chopped celery and onion for spaghetti sauce. This little appliances cleans easily and is very study. There is even a removable plastic cover on the bottom that helps the appliance stay on the countertop without slipping. I have noticed that the motor never seems to get warm which should help its longevity. Another great B & D appliance is the chrome retro toaster that looks and toasts like a toaster from yesteryear and actually toasts on BOTH sides of the bread. Just bought it, and totally love it! Chops Onions, Garlic, Green Peppers... in seconds. I debated buying this item, even after reading other reviews. I was using another chopper, that broke, that always needed assembly, and it was tough to fit the blade in the slots, plus I had to push down on it multiple times, for the blades to the job. The reviews that I read, on this chopper, sounded too good to be true. But it is amazing. I am so proud of it, that I show everyone what a marvelous job it does, in seconds, and with little or no effort on my part. Cleaning it is equally easy, and the size is perfect for day to day use. This is the first time that I am writing a review for a product that I have purchased, and its because it has made my life easy, and I have never come across a better chopper than this. I purchased this wonderful little chopper about 6 months ago, and I'm still finding new ways to entertain myself with it. Bread crumbs, onions, green peppers, celery, meat (chicken, for example, for chicken salad). When I think of the time I've wasted over the years chopping stuff by hand because my food processor was too large and cumbersome for little jobs! You must remember not to put in oversized pieces (for baby carrots, I cut them into thirds). If you are looking to make mass quantities of chopped things, it's not for you, but it's exactly what I needed. Easy to clean up, even has a little storage cap attached to the bottom for the bowl, which also serves as a grip on the counter to keep it from sliding. Uses little more space in your cabinet than a large coffee mug. Definitely my favorite kitchen gadget!Customer Review: quick, easy, works great!

got one this week and have been experimenting. for the price it is unbelievably good! a couple notes - instructions are not adequate so you will need to experiment and there are no recipes. for things like pico de gallo and chunky salsa some ingredients need to be chopped in the processor first (garlic, whole herbs and spices,etc.)so that they will easily blend with coarser chopped ingredients like onions and tomatoes. with some practice you can get the exact texture and flavor you want. i just made the best guacamole that i have ever had and i am far from a good cook. and clean up takes seconds not minutes. this product is an extraordinary value. anyone who complains either has a defective product (which can happen to even the best manufacturers - see toyota in feb 2010!) or they just don't want to try. buy it!Customer Review: Excellent

After a fair amount of skepticism that this product would not be any different or better than other small food choppers, I decided to give it a try. I love this small choppper (and I'm not known to be passionate about kitchen appliances). The small size is an advantage when chopping small quantities of vegetables. The bottom blade is placed almost at the base level and hence you won't have any large chunks of onion pieces stuck there. It cuts it nicely and without squishing out the juices. It also doubles up as a container when the blade is removed. its a great container that does not let any smell out. (tested it with storing chopped onions in the fridge). It is light and the buttons are easy to press and ergonomically located at the top.
I would definitely recommend this chopper.
