We have had this for about an year or more now. We bought this one after a previous black & decker chopper finally gave up after 5 years of use. So, we liked the brand from that history. I did do some research looking at reviews at multiple sites, and while this one did not have the best reviews, it had pretty good reviews and from a price & review combination, it looked like the best deal.
After about an year now, i am glad to say, the product works just as well as the day we bought it. We were initially wondering if the design of having the motor attached to the head vs the base would be difficult, but that has not been much trouble. My wife loves to cook and this is one of her daily use tools, and if she was not happy with how it works, we would have had to buy another unit long back. With this chopper, i have actually heard her recommend it to some of her friends - and let me tell you this - it has to be really good/useful to get her to recommend it to her friends!!!

I have never owned a food processor/chopper before. But I have been doing a lot more cooking in the past year, and wanting to try things that specifically call for a food processor. I read hundreds of reviews on different products before choosing this one. And I have to say that based on the FEW bad reviews, I was extremely nervous. After using it, I have to say, it was completely unnecessary to be nervous! This thing is amazing! Like I said, I've never owned one before, so this could be the reason I'm so impressed...but it does an amazing job. And since I am only feeding myself and my fiance, it is the perfect size.
As for the reviewers who said it leaks if you put liquid in it...the directions CLEARLY state that there is a max liquid line on the bowl. So if you can't take two minutes out of your day to read the directions, I guess you have to learn the hard way.
For a two person household, or for smaller jobs, I'd recommend this product to anyone.

I never thought I would be one of *those people* to write a rave review, but this little gadget is my fav in the kitchen. My mother gave me one of these ergo choppers over 6 years ago... it may have been longer. Mine is even a color they no longer make. I have not once had a problem with it, have never had to replace a part, have dropped it several times, have chopped everything from meat, nuts, garlic, and anything else you can think of... the blades have never dulled, it still works like the day my mother gave it to me. I would not consider my kitchen functional without it. I have purchased several ergo's through the last years as gifts for friends, house warming gifts, weddings and the like. You can't go wrong. It is a handy size, cleans well, stylish, and above all the Ergo does the job fabulously. Make certain you buy one for yourself before you get anyone else one, you will not be disappointed. I was searching online for a new mini-food chopper as my current one (A Braun mini-chopper attachment) had given up the ghost after over 10 years of constant use. Searching Amazon for "mini-choppers" I saw this one listed first and went on to read the reviews of current owners. I ordered two, one for myself, and one for a future wedding shower gift, soley on the rave reviews--and also the item's size. I have only used it once so far, and it really is an awesome little processor. You can really feel it has great power. I like that it's actually twice the size of my former Braun food chopper. However, like most food processors, you don't want to overload them as the blades only come up about an inch and a half. If you keep it at 1/3 level just above the blades, the results are fabulous. (I'll never understand why they simply don't put a few more blades further up the post!) Anyway, it has a new fan; I highly recommend it!Customer Review: Perfect for small jobs, and softer foods

I bought this chopper because it had good ratings and had a larger capacity than other choppers in this price range.
When I got the chopper the first thing I did was test its cutting ability by trying to chop cubes of cheddar cheese. As I expected it did not work so well. The cheese sticked to the sides of the container and the blades coudn't slice through the cheese. This didn't dissapoint me though, as cutting cheese with any sharp blade is difficult.
With all other types of foods I have tried like nuts, onions, garlic, peppers, etc.. , it works great.
The only con, I feel, is that when the food is being processed some of it sticks to the uppper motor and it's a little harder to clean since you cannot submerse the unit in water. Other than that, the rest of the parts come apart very easily and can be cleaned in no time.
Summary: Great for small jobs of softer foods that won't stick to blades
