Customer Review: Makes A Mediocre Cup of Coffee

Like a lot of people reviewing this coffeemaker, I am the only coffee drinker in my house, so the single cup seemed like a great idea. The coffeemaker is compact, attractive, easy to use and affordable. The problem is, I've used it 12 times now, and still haven't figured out how to prevent the coffee grinds from flowing into the cup. I've tried using less water, using less coffee, etc. I think it is probably just a poor design. It is typically just a few grinds, which can be easily fished out with a spoon, so you can still drink the coffee, but it's a hassle. Also, when all is said and done, it is not a very good cup of coffee. Customer Review: Great little workhorse!!

My office coffee is terrible, so I picked this up for my desk. I've had it for 3 years (2 or 3 cups a day) and still working like a charm.

I am the only one in my family who drinks coffee and I was getting tired of fixing a pot of coffee for only one. After looking at the reviews of several single serve coffee makers on Amazon, I decided on this Black & Decker singler serve coffee maker - AND I LOVE IT!!! It is great. I get everything prepared the night before, then when I wake up all I have to do is to push the On button. It makes great coffee. I wish it had a timer - but other than that I have no complaints. I am also the only one at my office who drinks coffee so I found myself caring this coffee maker back and forth from home to office. Needless to say I have ordered a second one for the office. As an on-the-go college student, I can say that this is an excellent personal coffemaker! It brews quickly, turns itself off when it is finished, and is easy to clean. I use a paper filter (size 1) inside the mesh basket to make clean-up even easier. The included travel mug is very sturdy. Heating water for instant oatmeal is another good use, but the water isn't hot enough to make good tea, in my opinion. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend it!Customer Review: Just Okay...

I'm not sad I bought it, it makes me realize what kind of coffee maker I really need. I drink coffee very irregularly and needed something that would just make me a cup when I felt the need and my dad a cup when he came over.
It does the job, but dirties very easy and the top of the machine isn't heavy enough to stop water from leaking out. It does do the job, but my next one will be better made and easier to clean.
