I finally decided to replace my quite old iron and, after reading reviews, bought this--and I'm not sorry! I'd considered more expensive irons, but this has proved to be a winner for me. Although the iron is a bit heavier than I was used to, it is very easy to use, consistent in temperature, has helpful pre-marked settings and a HUGE water reservoir. I also like the auto-off function. The cord is long enough and not in the way when the iron's in use. I still do a good bit of ironing, including dress shirts, and I actually think ironing feels easier with this iron!Customer Review: 3.5 to 4 star !

This is a good, sturdy and serviceable iron but nothing remarkable. It is about as good as it gets for a standard household iron. It is hefty enough to avoid having to press hard, it has very good temperature control, and really does get hot enough to easily de-wrinkle linen if you use it with steam. However I cannot begin to imagine who the idiot was who conceived of the recommended cleaning procedure. The iron warns you - relatively often - of when it needs to be cleaned but luckily it won't prevent you from continuing to use it. Every time I clean it I need to take out the "manual" to follow the inane instructions. The cleaning works well but how in the world is THIS the recommended procedure: fill with water, plug in until hot, unplug and hold the steaming and sputtering HOT iron horizontally over the sink while simultaneously preventing the setting wheel from rotating back to it's preferred position AND rocking the iron back and forth and side to side until ALL the water in the reservoir is removed?????? Great product. Purchased it because of rating on Consumer Reports. Replaced my Rowenta which I paid twice the money for and this iron is way better. Would recommend (and I have to all my friend & family)
