Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage IronCustomer Review: new iron Summary: 4 StarsI recently purchased a replacement iron- a Black and Decker auto-off digital iron. Have only used it a couple of times, but it is a smooth item. It is easy to fill the water tank, select the temperature setting, glides over the clothes effortlessly. I guess my only down side (if you want to call it that) is the cord is extremely long, much longer than I need. I would recommend this iron highly.
Customer Review: Big Improvement over Very Old Iron Summary: 4 StarsI bought this iron to replace a very old iron that had finally stopped working completely. The steam function on my old iron had stopped working long, long ago, so the comparison may not be a fair one, but I find this iron much more effective than my old one. Wrinkles come out much more quickly, whether or not steam is used. This iron has several settings, with the names of the type of fabric that applies to each written on the iron. Each appears to be appropriate, neither too hot, nor too cold. The amount of steam is variable, from none at all to heavy steam. There are burst of steam and water spray options available for problem areas as well. The only reason I didn't give this iron the highest rating is that it is a little large and heavy. I'm not sure how much of a disadvantage that is, though, as I am easily getting used to it.
Customer Review: Very good iron. Summary: 4 StarsI purchased this item on 11/3/2008 and love it. I have previously owned about 4 Rowenta's, their high end models and their garmment steamer. I've owned Shark's high end iron and several other models. My iron came from orangeonions.com. Orangeonions.com sent it out in about 2 - 3 days, and they shipped it in great packaging with good care. I've read all the reviews, good and bad, and decided on this iron. "It is a WINNER." I am a seamstress, and I need a good iron to turn out great garments. I tend to go through quite a few irons. This iron delivers. I have paid very good money for my irons, and that doesn't make a iron be great. I kept watching the prices, as they constantly kept changing, but eventually found a great deal with organgionions.com. It holds a lot of water, great handling, presses well, and steams the clothes great. It works for me.
Customer Review: This iron is great! Summary: 5 StarsMy wife loves this iron. It has a good weight and the puff of steam that you can have emitted is just right. This is truly a digital controlled iron and well worth the money. My wife has ironed my pants and shirts and she has said this is what ironing should be. Others in our household have used the iron and said they have enjoyed using the iron. So far, we have really felt it has been well worth the money spent.
Customer Review: An A-OK iron! Summary: 5 StarsWell designed, user-friendly (Chinese, what else?) iron. At 1500W heats up quickly. Mirror polished stainless steel bottom. Very nice LCD temperature read-out. Does all as advertised. Steam / water functions very controllable. I'm taking it easy with the water filler door as others have alluded to it breaking. The subject water fill door hinge consists of a very thin plastic piece which does appear inadequate. Probably gets broken more easily as the plastic ages from (normal) heat. Got my fingers crossed on this issue. Shoulda' been constructed from cast metal(?)...that said....a good iron at a good price.
