Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Black & Decker CTO6301 Digital Advantage Stainless-Steel 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven

Customer Review: I am in LOVE with this oven
Summary: 5 Stars

This little oven is the best money I ever spent on an appliance. I live in Texas, where it gets really HOT, which means that I do almost no cooking between the months of May and October. Since I acquired this little beauty, I have been cooking up a storm. This oven is actually quite roomy, and I am able to cook everything in it that I normally would in my big oven (except for a turkey). The oven itself does get hot but the rest of the kitchen stays nice and cool (HURRAY!!). I also bought this oven because I am trying to use my microwave less, due to various things that I have read concerning the possible health risks of microwaved foods. Don't know for sure about the health risk thing, but one thing I do know for sure: corndogs taste ALOT better cooked in an oven as opposed to a microwave (and they only take a few minutes longer).

Customer Review: Cooks great and easy to use!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this toaster oven for a couple months and I love it! I use it frequently and everything always turns out great. It doesn't take long to preheat, and yes it gets hot on the outside. It's an oven! It's doing the same work as an appliance that's 10 times it's size! The instructions warn against touching the outside of the oven while it's on, so it's really your own fault if you burn yourself. I've cooked pizzas and all kinds of other frozen foods and am always happy with the results. My husband is often out of town for work so it comes in handy when cooking small portions for one. It's also great for heating up leftovers if you don't want them to get soggy in the microwave. It does take longer to toast, but that's only because of it's size. Overall, this is a really great appliance!

Customer Review: RAVE REVIEWS FROM DAUGHTER
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought as a birthday gift for my daughter as she has hinted around that she needed a new toaster over. Well after a couple of years, Dad finally took the hint. My son-in-law thinks this is a greatest product in the world. He said that the frozen 12" pizzas you get in the stores come out perfect. Toast comes out great too. He did say that you have to stay on top of the convection feature, as it will get away from you if your NOT used to convection cooking. Soem reviewers said it was junk, but from what I have seen and what my daughter tells me, it's a great piece of gear. Read the book, follow directions and you will be satisfied.
Thanks Amazon, what with free shipping and no sales tax, you can't beat it.

Customer Review: Read reviews prior to buying, This product is 100% plus
Summary: 5 Stars

Once you read the instructions, and try a little practice with this product, you will be 100% satisfied. I love this toaster oven better than the Black & Decker it replaced (same size).Have cooked a 4lb roast, when you set the digital controls, temp and time , the read out continousley shows temp and time left. The convection fan is almost silent. To set this oven you press what to cook 1st, bagels, toast, bake etc , this will start the blue light blinking next you see 3,4 5,etc little solid squares, this is showing temp duration, to change, if needed press the up & down arrows for more or less time by more or less little squares. So far , after over a month I am 100% satisfied, but read instruction book. George

Customer Review: Best toaster oven ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I've probably owned at least 15 toaster ovens over the years ranging from the cheap ones that are barely usable at all up to a couple of very expensive ones. So when my sister came up with this B&D with the funny bump one the back and more buttons than the average microwave, I wasn't impressed.

However, it actually is a great all-purpose substitute for a stand-alone oven. It actually heats to the selected temperature, is fantastic for rewarming even french fries and onion rings (instead of getting them warm but soggy in the microwave) and even makes good toast. I haven't been able to master the timer, but I'm not sure if that's the fault of the timer or me. I recommend it highly.
