I bought this because I was tried of buying toaster ovens with plastic dials. The plastic always breaks and each cost around $45 with shipping and handling. I wanted something that was digital so I didn't have to deal with knobs again. I couldn't be more please with this B & D product. It pre-heats and the adjustments you might want to make to temperature and time are easy to readjust. I haven't used the Convection part yet but I am very happy with heating, roasting, baking and warming. It is well worth the price and is a little larger then you "traditional" toaster oven but that even give you more space to roast. I like to roast veggie - it does a great job with a perfect timer. However, if you need to change the timer that is easy to do.
Overall, I truly love it and with Free Shipping can't be Beat. I recommend it highly to anyone who doesn't want to fire up the traditional oven and save that electricity!!!

After doing a LOT of research on toasters when my old toaster oven finally died.....I purchased this one. I have to say that I made the right decision. Since having this toaster oven, I have only started my big oven ONCE! You can put frozen pizzas in there and lots of other "larger" items that I would normally have to start the oven for. My only complaint is how long it takes to simply toast a couple of pieces of bread. However, it does toast evenly and seems to taste better than when my old toaster was used. I just usually start the toast first if I am making eggs...etc... Also, when using the oven part, it automatically shuts off after 30 minutes, in case you forget (which I had done with my previous toaster oven). I highly recommend this toaster, because I can only imagine the energy I have saved by not starting the "BIG OVEN"! A BLACK AND DECKER PRODUCT WAS CHOSEN BECAUSE B&D STILL MANUFACTURES SOME PRODUCTS IN THE USA. IT WAS DISAPPOINTING TO FIND THIS OVEN WAS MADE IN CHINA.
HOWEVER, IT IS WELL DESIGNED AND USER-FRIENDLY AND FITS THE NEED FOR ADDITIONAL COOKING CAPABILITY IN EVERY KITCHEN. THE KEYPAD PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL KEYS FOR BAKING (USING CONVECTION FAN), BROILING, TOASTING BREAD AND BAGELS AND 12 INCH PIZZA COOKING, WITH PRE-SET TIME AND TEMPERATURE SETTINGS WHICH CAN ALSO BE ADJUSTED UP OR DOWN IF DESIRED. PRE-HEATING MODE AND TEMPERATURE ARE DISPLAYED ON A SCREEN, IN ADDITION TO COOKING TEMPERATURE AND A COUNT-DOWN TIMER DURING COOKING. COMPLETION OF COOKING IS ANOUNCED BY AN AUDIBLE SIGNAL. I bought this toaster oven as a gift for my mother. I read the reviews before buying it, and almost didn't get it. A few were negative and complained about the oven getting too hot while toasting, or the handle being too close to the glass for your fingers to use it. Also, someone mentioned that it took so long to toast a slice of bread. There was a comment on its size being too large. (You should know what size oven you want before you buy any oven.) We are TOTALLY happy with this product, and did not agree with the negative reviews at all. I have waited a while before writing this review, so that I could give an accurate account on our own experience with this oven. We have no complaints whatsoever. My mother is thrilled with it and has toasted, broiled & baked many times. She absolutely loves everything about it. This thing toasts and bakes great. The food comes out 10 times better than the standard mini-toaster oven I had before. I love the convection technology and the timer while cooking. It cooks meats evenly and can get frozen fried foods crispy on the outside, but tender and juicy on the inside. It's the best.
I only have very minor complaints: the handle gets quite hot and there's not much protection around the handle area from burning your hand so I have to use a towel to feel comfortable opening the door. Don't know why this is a problem because it seems like such an easy solution to fix, i.e. more plastic around the handle. The other thing is real minor, but the thing beeps really loud when you adjust the time and temperature and it's annoying.
But those negatives are not deal breakers, the key is that cooks food great!
