THE BLACK AND DECKER CAN OPENER IS ATTRACTIVE AND WORKS RATHER WELL.
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT SOMETIMES ON SOME CANS IT IS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE THE BLADE.
ALL IN ALL IT IS USEFUL AND WORKS TO MY SATISFACTION.

After reading the other reviews here, I was really nervous about purchasing this, but our other one (also a B&D) had broken after ~12 years, and I couldn't imagine not having one. I was also concerned about installation since I knew that I'd hear the grousing from DH if it was difficult. But, my worries were unfounded. Installation was fine. We were a little disapointed that the holes didn't match exactly (but SO close - why do they do that?), but DH installed without a problem. It's been working fine. I have to admit, I've only opened about 6 cans so far, but they have all opened with ease.Customer Review: Not Reliable!

I gave this can opener one star because it looks nice (and because Amazon doesn't allow "0" stars). Unfortunately, I did not purchase it as "Kitchen Art" but rather to open cans. Technically, it doesn't even save counter space as I now have to replace it after fewer than 1 dozen cans! Amazon's exchange/refund policy would not cover it (because it stopped working after a little more than 30 days after I received it, although I wasn't able to actually install/use it for a couple of weeks after it arrived). I wish I had listened to the reviewers that noted that it didn't work. B&D is IMPOSSIBLE to contact for a return/refund. This was a total waste of my money.Customer Review: Works well, Good value

I purchased this to replace my slowly dying and aging GE spacemaker. This unit is stylish and for the money it works fine with no problems. Installing it was easy, too bad it didn't match the holes from my previous one, but oh well. Granted it is not a $200 Bosch but you get what you pay for.Customer Review: My favourite!

I've been using B&D undercounter can openers for over 15 years. I wouldn't own another can opener.
I do see where some people are complaining about it not mounting well but I've never had a problem. But it does pierce perfectly, is quiet and does a complete job...it doesn't stop just before the lid is completely detached like some other canopeners do.
Only type of can opener I will ever own.
