My kids (7, 5, and 2) begged for this after seeing it advertised on Nik, and all received it for Christmas. They are having fun with it, and it has a few nice features compared to standard decorating bags and tips. First, the bags go into the collar ("applicator") open end down, so the end that you hold is the sealed end (thus less chance of frosting squeezing out the back). Second, the tips just screw on to the end of the applicator, which makes changing them very easy.
The main drawback I see is the size of the applicator. It is a funnel-shaped piece of plastic that is fairly large - it holds 1/4 cup. That amount of frosting ends up in there, and you can't really push it out to use it. So you end up wasting the last 1/4 cup. That doesn't sound like a lot, but if you're decorating with several colors (as for the rainbow that my kids wanted to make this morning!), you end up having to make a lot more frosting than you actually need. We've used about 10 or 12 bags so far, and we've had two of the seams blow out, also. That made a big mess.
Overall, this is an OK set, and I don't regret getting it. I just wish it were a little more efficient on the frosting aspect.

I got this product after looking and comparing prices around. I did not want to buy something very expensive that would not work out and I though this could be it. Basically, it's fine for a begginner like me but the way the applicator was made make you waste a lot of frosting and the plastic bag always, always breaks.
If I knew this was designed like this, I would probably buy another thing.

I recently bought this kit as I've gotten really into baking/cake decorating. I was drawn to the amount of items in the kit (applicator tips, bags, stencils, etc). I've not had a bag break on me yet, and the applicator is curved, which makes decorating a bit easier for a novice. However, I am disappointed with the size of if the applicator, as so much frosting goes to waste.Customer Review: Pastic-y

While this set is everything it advertizes itself to be, I found the pieces to be flimsy and of a lesser quality than I would have expected from a Betty Crocker product. It does work, though!
