Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Better Bath Deep Water Bath

Customer Review: Deep Bath Really Does Add 4" To Water Depth!
Summary: 5 Stars

This product is so easy to use, and it works fabulously! I've read reviews that say the suction cups won't stick. Well DUH, you have to wet them first, as well as the area around the overflow drain. Suction cups don't work well bone dry LOL, regardless of the material its made of. For some odd reason, suction cups just work great when you create a wet vacuum, rather than a dry one.
Once they're wet, apply moderately firm pressure with your thumb to EACH suction cup INDIVIDUALLY, starting from the bottom and working your way to the top (or top to bottom, whichever works for you). You can do 2 at a time if you use both thumbs. And voila! Watch the water level rise above its intended level. Oh yea, and Deeper Bath doesn't leak. It maintains a tight seal however long of a bath you want to take. The suction cups hold a seal on the inside rim of the product tight against the tub, and the looser it gets while it's soaking, the tighter the seal, just like wood expands and creates a tighter seal on boats once it's wet.
If you can't get your Deeper Bath to work, well I'm sorry, but you're just retarded, because this product is so easy to use! Expect to see at least a 4 inch rise in the level of water!!

Customer Review: Works exactly as advertised - my wife loves it!
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife loves long, hot baths in her garden tub; her previous solution to defeating the overflow was to leave the hot water on a trickle, which was great until she emptied the hot water heater. :) I saw an ad for this and bought one on a whim and gave it to her as a little surprise one evening.

The thing looks rediculous, and it seems like it might be impossible to get on. But the flexability of the thing means that it can get a great seal on just about any tub. She tried it out the next night, and came out of the bathroom with a big grin on her face. I checked it out, and sure enough - it does exactly what it says it will do.

The only nit I could pick is that there's still a hole on the side of this thing, so if you fill up your tub far enough, the water will spill over the top of the Deep Water Bath, and into the overflow drain. It seems stupid to put an overflow preventer on a device that is designed to defeat the overflow preventer, but my wife reports that she's able to get the water high enough that the hole on the Deep Water Bath isn't an issue.

Customer Review: Learn how to make it stick - It WORKS
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a really good product but when first purchased we thought it wasn't going to work. Just stepping into the empty tub to install by lightly wetting the suction cups and applying pressure it would not stick. After reading the package, there was no info on wetting the product. It only says to work your way around the device pressing suctions in a row. Still didn't work for us. Since the house was a little chilly we placed it in the sink with hot water for a couple of minutes to soak. In the meantime, taking a wet cloth with some soap, cleaned the area around the escape point and finished by drying it with a towel. Then we removed the Deep Water Bath from the hot soak and shook it off. Trying again to work around the suctions it stuck perfectly. It does say to take it off each time and rinse with cool water - to avoid mold. You can also throw it in with the wash every now and then. It makes a great full bath to relax in! :)

Customer Review: Must Have for Soakers!
Summary: 5 Stars

I hated our bath tub when we moved into this house, until....I got this. I never knew this existed, I duct-taped the drain in the last house we rented (Don't recommend it, though it held for 2 years).

What a difference! If this one ever dies, I will get a new one the next day! I love to soak and read my books, and this makes it possible. You wouldn't think that 2-3 inches of water would make a difference, but to me it does. It works like a charm. As someone else said, it does help to get the plastic a little warm, then it will stick better. But I have never had a problem getting mine to work. (If you do, just hold on to one side and start pushing the little suction cups individually around the circle and it will stick with no problems!)

I think for the money you can't go wrong!

(My tub has the drain lever that sticks out and this covers it with no problems!

Customer Review: FAN-freakin'-TASTIC!
Summary: 5 Stars

I like to take long hot baths and read. When I bought my house, I was very sad that tub would only hold about eight inches of water. And the water would get cold pretty quickly. So much for soakin' in the tub. I figured for ~$6, this was worth a try. When I saw it, I thought for sure the suction cups would leak water in. But they don't! Not in the least! I'm now able to fully submerge myself in the tub. The thing that I found most surprising is how much longer the water stays warm. I had seriously considered drilling small holes in the exterior of the tub to inject spray insulation thinking that might help retain the warm temperature longer. Now I don't need to do that. This little gizmo changed my "sit in 8 inches of water that gets cold in 15 minutes" tub into a "be completely enveloped in warm water for an hour" tub. Two huge thumbs up from me.
