These lids are difficult to find, so on-line is usually the best option. They are ideal for storing small amounts of refrigerated or frozen food in glass jars, and come in Regular or Large sizes. (With glass, you can more easily see if the food has been there too long). The very first time I saw these I grabbed several boxes of them. I make sauerkraut IN canning jars and these lids are so helpful. Since I got these lids I keep various sizes of canning jars in my kitchen cupboards and use them to store things in the refrigerator. They have a nice sealling system in them that allows you to store things like cut up onion and garlic and not have to deal with odors. I use them on the "canning jar" mugs because it keeps insects (like the annual influx on lady beetles) out of coffee, etc. I also like these to use on canned food after the jars have been started. I bought a set of four of these lids elsewhere. I love them. I just tested to see if they were water tight, mine are. They are so convenient because a mason jar holds a lot, And cleans up easy. I was ready to order some more. When I noticed that a used peanut butter jar lid fits perfectly on a Mason jar. And also is water tight. To be fair the Jarden lids are more heavy duty. I'm not sure why so many stores sell canning jars, the bands, and the metal sealing lids, but not these plastic lids. This things are great. They allow you to use the large canning jars for lemonade, store jam easily in the fridge, and even cap various items for freezer storage. We buy more and more of these every year, and still can't seem to have enoughCustomer Review: very useful lids

These lids make it a whole lot easier for my family to know which jars they can use. Especially with refrigerator pickles as I can with the regular 2 part lids and once it is opened use these white plastic ones. That way the kids don't end up opening 4 jars of the same and saying "but I thought it was opened already"!
