Breakfast time at our house was usually a bit of a scramble (and I don't just mean the eggs). My fantasy envisioned a trusty maid who would have hot toast, eggs and sausage waiting for us, while we greeted the day with smiles instead of "hurry-hurry" admonitions.
Turns out my fantasy wasn't so far off after all when I found this Back To Basics Egg & Muffin Toaster. This is the coolest electric I've ever seen. Would you believe this mini marvel toasts two slices of bread (or English muffin or croissant), cooks an egg, and warms sausage all at the same time? Well, it does, from a push of the start button to done in four minutes!
Wide toasting slots accommodate the bread of your choice, and it's equipped with an automatic shut-off. It can be used for all three of the functions or simply one (but what's egg without sausage?)
It's sleek and black measuring some 8" high and 15" wide with a detachable crumb tray, indicator light, plus meat warming tray. Not only that, but it's fun to use. Now, kids can get breakfast for me - that, friends, is really a good morning!

I wondered, how could this thing work: How long would it take to set-up? How in the world could it time everything just right? How complicated would it be? What would the food taste like? I was willing to to experiment if I had to, but after I made my first sandwich I realized no experimentation was necessary. The machine just works. I only had to read the instructions the first time I used the toaster. Set the toast how dark you want it and use the included measuring cup (has marks on the cup that describe how you want your egg(s)) to add the right amount of water to cook your boiled or poached eggs just the way you like them. I prefer my poached eggs right between medium and soft and the measuring cup get's it right every time. The racks for the egg and ham nest together intuitively. Once the toast pops up I know everything is done. I simply dab the moisture from the steam off the egg and ham and put the sandwich together. If I want cheese, the egg and the ham are hot enough to melt it on the sandwhich. I toss the egg pan, ham rack and lid into the sink for a quick cleam up. I love eggs for breakfast but with my hectic schedule I only have time for them on the weekend. When I saw this product on Amazon recently I knew I had to try it. I just received it today and thought I would make Egg n Muffins for dinner.
The machine is very easy to use and the directions easy to follow. The toaster is set up to where it doesn't start the toast until the egg has cooked some, so they both get done at the same time! Also it has a meat warming tray you place above the cooking egg. I bought some pre-cooked frozen round sausage patties and placed one in and it was nice and hot when the egg was done. I didn't time it but it takes only about 5 minutes to cook the egg, toast and heat the meat.
It also has a function where it will hard boil 4 eggs, I can't wait to try that!
This is the best appliance I have gotten in a long time and now I can make quick egg muffin sandwiches to eat in the car on the way to work! I am tired of granola bars every weekday moring - now I can eat a real breakfast that will keep me full till lunch.
I highly recommend this product.

What a great little machine!!! I am not usually one to go for gimmicky appliances anymore (my last was the Tater Twister in the 80's), but I needed a new toaster and was won over by all the great reviews. We used it for the first time (actually first four times) this morning, and my family loved it. It worked perfectly from the very first, making an egg, bacon & cheese bagel for my teenage son. He pronounced it "awesome" and immediately wanted another. Hence, we discovered the only drawback I have found so far--that it is a bit time consuming to make breakfast for more than one or two people. Other than that, no complaints at all! I have been looking for a way to get a nutritious but quick meal into my son on weekday mornings before school, (something more nutritious than a Pop Tart, anyway) and I think I have finally found the answer! I will try it tomorrow morning with Egg Beaters instead of a whole egg, (we'll save that for the weekends), but I see no reason why the results won't be as stellar as they were this morning. I am SO getting one of these for my dad for Father's Day!!!
