Customer Review: One of the best kitchen gadgets I have purchased

Even after reading reviews here I was still skeptical about the Egg & Muffin toaster; however, we needed a new toaster so I figured I'd give it a try. To my surprise it works just as described. The product is made better than I expected, but don't expect it to feel like a top of the line toaster. I'd say it's about average as far as quality goes. I haven't had any problem with the nonstick surface chipping, even with tossing the washable parts in the dishwasher. I use a plastic spatual to get the eggs out when they're done to avoid scratching the surface, though.
My kids said "MomMuffins" are better than McDs. The eggs come out perfect every time. Clean up is a breeze. It also makes perfect toast and bagels. I did notice, though, when warming sausage the eggs were wet. I did as other reviewers mentioned and used a papertowel to dab the moisture away. I haven't noticed it being a problem when heating precooked bacon.
My only complaint is the time it takes to make everyone an egg muffin. It would be nice to have a 4 slice model with 2 egg poachers as it would save a lot of time. I guess my only solution to that is to buy another one.

This has turned out to be a terrific purchase! It doesn't take up much more space than a standard 2 slice toaster and the price is comparable to other toasters, especially when you consider the quality and the extra features. I've made hard-boiled, poached and scrambled eggs and they've turned out perfectly. Cooking time is a function of the amount of water added and the included measuring cup directs you exactly to the right amount of water needed for the degree of doneness you want. If you're making toast while your egg is cooking, the toaster part doesn't start heating until after the egg has started cooking, so everything is done at the same time. One key for cooking a poached or scrambled egg is to make sure you spray the egg pan with a bit of non-stick cooking spray. Also, before you use it for the first time make sure you follow the directions to get rid of the plastic smell -- the process is quick and it works! And the best part: it's extremely easy to clean! Most parts can go into the dishwasher. The water tray can easily be cleaned with a dab of white vinegar and a paper towel. Crumb tray slides out easily for a quick wipe-off. The Egg Poacher:
This is the part that is a wow factor. I can make a single egg soft to medium in no time and all. Or you can soft to hard boil 4 at a time in the shell in 4 to 6 minutes. Also when you cook eggs can warm up pre-cook meat or fresh fish like salmon. The meat and fish are nicely steamed.
Clean up:
The unit is easy to clean up after cook egg(s) and meat/fish.
Suggestion:
When making eggs and toast at the same time. Let the egg(s) get half done then press cancel. Put you toast, muffin or bagel in and pick combo mode. This will let have these done about same time egg completes.
This is a great gift idea for Christmas. This is one gift that you know family and friends will enjoy getting.
Also look at this product for a great start to your day.

I am so in love with this product!! My 13 year old son has been conducting demonstrations in my kitchen. A must have for everyone on your Holiday shopping list. Perfect for a fresh hot breakfast on demand. Took about 4 tries to get the hang of it but we have experienced perfect egg muffins every time. The boiled eggs are just right, if you have family members that each like a different style of boiled egg this is for you. Hard boiled eggs for that chef or cobb salad ready while you assemble the other ingredients. After school snacks and those dinners on the run also covered with this product. Set it up with your choice, poached or boiled, select your bread push the button and by the time you get your dishes and beverage breakfast is ready. Perfect for singles, families with children and your aging parental units. Easy to use, easy to clean, delivers a quality product. Only makes one at a time but not a problem for us as it allows each of us to eat when we are ready in the morning. Breakfast time at our house was usually a bit of a scramble (and I don't just mean the eggs). My fantasy envisioned a trusty maid who would have hot toast, eggs and sausage waiting for us, while we greeted the day with smiles instead of "hurry-hurry" admonitions.
Turns out my fantasy wasn't so far off after all when I found this Back To Basics Egg & Muffin Toaster. This is the coolest electric I've ever seen. Would you believe this mini marvel toasts two slices of bread (or English muffin or croissant), cooks an egg, and warms sausage all at the same time? Well, it does, from a push of the start button to done in four minutes!
Wide toasting slots accommodate the bread of your choice, and it's equipped with an automatic shut-off. It can be used for all three of the functions or simply one (but what's egg without sausage?)
It's sleek and black measuring some 8" high and 15" wide with a detachable crumb tray, indicator light, plus meat warming tray. Not only that, but it's fun to use. Now, kids can get breakfast for me - that, friends, is really a good morning!
