After reading the various reviews for this brand of hot chocolate machine I bought the Grande (60 oz) machine for a special winter event my company was hosting. What a great decision! First snowfall of the year, customers were streaming in & met with a Perfect Temperature cup of hot chocolate! Perfectly mixes cold milk & powder hot chocolate, fun frothing feature, and truly reheats mixture to the perfect temperature as needed - without supervision. After making two big batches and 3 hours of operation, cleaning the heating plate of baked-on chocolate took a few minutes with a Dobie - a small price to pay.
I'd bought a snazzier model by a different maker in the smaller size for home use (at twice the cost of the big one). We really missed the dispenser tap and automatic reheat features of the Back to Basics brand. After only one use, we ditched that one and bought this one. We're pleased to say this little guy is perfect for countertop use & comes with all the features of the Grande.

I bought this over two years ago and love it. I hate instant hot chocolate but making it from scratch always seemed to take too long, plus the constant stirring to make sure the milk didn't scorch was a bore. But with this machine I just put everything in, turn it on, and go do something else. I know others have said that they did not think it got hot enough but my machine works great. I find the temperature perfect, hot enough with no need to wait or blow on the chocolate to cool it down enough to drink. I'm not into burning my tongue. I have used all kinds of chocolate mixes in it, even the original cocoa recipe with great results. I have even added liqours like Bailey's, etc. and caramel ice cream topper to it. The only drawback I found is when cleaning the machine it was hard to get into the very edge of the bottom heater plate, but I found if I use a wooden toothpick I have no problem cleaning any residue stuck there. I love a hot chocolate at the end of a cold day, but usually it is chore to make and when using instant mixes, it didn't always come out quite right. But this little wonder fixes all of that.You can use water or milk, add additional flavors (a touch of vanilla is my favorite) and let it mix and heat it for you. Now some have said this device was not hot enougth, but my tongue would disagree with that. I love the fact it will froth it up for you as you dispense it (a little extra sugar will make extra froth). Cleaning is no problem, as long as you clean it as you use it. Yes, if you wait till tomorow to clean it, you will need to scrub a little, but if you do it when you are done, no problem. Just run soapy water thru it and wipe away any choclate reisdue.
I have yet to try out other drinks with it, I don't like coffee and will wait for summer to try out the teas, but I expect it will be just as good.

I tried making my own chai at home once and it nearly ruined my taste for the stuff (which up to that point, I couldn't get enough of it). So in desperation I searched for a steamer/frother that could heat milk without spoiling it and froth it so it was just like Starbucks! This machine is amazing! You just add the chai mix and the milk, flip it on and it spins and heats it until it is literally the perfect temperature and then shuts off. You can push the froth button as you dispense it if you need a little extra froth. If it gets cool, just toss it back in and restart. It is simple to clean and easy to store. All I need now is a to-go cup and the little red straws and I'm the envy of the carpool moms! Seriously though, if you love lattes, cocoa, or chai, this is the machine you will want to have! It will pay for itself in less than two weeks!Customer Review: I love this machine!

I love this machine. Every year they are improved. I had a bad run with them. I must have had six or seven die on me. I sent them back to the company and they sent another one, no questions asked. I have seen an improvement. I guess I was the reason. I kept getting new ones. The last one lasted me over a year. Because I do not drink coffee it is used religiously. The new one I did purchase as I felt I got my moneys worth, and it is even quieter and more efficient than the last one. I know that having to send them back sounds like a lot of trouble but I knew that with each one the company would stand behind it. I figured as long as I sent them back (especially with them having a record of when I got it) they would either improve them or keep losing money on me. I figured right. They are better than ever.
