Customer Review: Chops half size ice cubes -- great smoothies

I didn't have high hopes that this personal blender would chop ice for my Medifast meal replacement smoothies because most of them seem to be limited in that regard, but this blender is doing a good job at it.
I don't have an ice maker on my refrigerator to crush ice, so I just fill my ice cube trays half way and use the smaller cubes. One small problem is that I find it works better if I mix my meal replacement powder with the water for about 5 seconds to blend before I add the ice and put the jar on the base unit for blending. When I don't do that, I find some powder on the sides or in the blade unit when it's blended, regardless of whether I put the powder in first or last.
With those two adjustments... using smaller cubes and stirring a few seconds... this little powerhouse chews through the ice and makes perfect smoothies, even with frozen or fresh fruit added to the mix.
The vegetable cutting blade is too dull to do any uniform chopping...but I don't need the unit for that.

Having used the magic bullet and smelled the burning motor smell that many reviewers complain about, I decided to buy this personal blender. The motor is perfect and powerful. I feel I could run it all day even though the instructions say don't run it for more than a minute. Magic Bullet isn't supposed to be run for more than 10 seconds. That said, the cups and bowls are just to big for my personal needs. For me it turned out that the cups and bowls of the magic bullet are the ideal size. The burning motor smell is annoying but it doesn't do any harm. If you like making big smoothies with lots of ice and fruit, you can't go wrong with this blender. The quality is outstanding. Unfortunately all I'm having is 8oz shakes and 4oz puddings which makes the smaller bowl and cup size of the Magic Bullet a better fit for me.Customer Review: just got it, but makes great smoothies!

i got this blender primarily to make smoothies. i dont have an ice maker so i just froze some chunks of banana and apple (what i had in the house already), then put the frozen fruit pieces in the blender, added some apple juice and milk (also had in the house), and YUMMY! not even as loud as i expected. nice compact size. i look forward to using this more and more! .... one week later....had to update and decrease by one star just because i have small hands and its really difficult for me to twiist the tops off because the mouth is so wide. still makes really yummy smoothies and i'm really enjoying those, just not the part where i have to struggle to get the top offCustomer Review: Good smoothie blender for one serving

Great blender. I use it daily for smoothies and I use one of the containers for hummus. The only downside I found was that the two other containers do not have lids. They make it seem like they do in the pictures, but nope.
Otherwise the blender is perfect for making single servings of whatever you want. Cleans quickly and it's nice having two mugs. I also like how easy it is to clean the blades since they detach from the blender.

Very nice product. The only downside is that I make alot of smoothies. I taste and add and reblend several times while making one. When you put the lid back on to reblend, the liquid makes a mess- there is all that smoothie in the lid because it's blended upside down. Also, some things stick to the bottom (which is the top when it's screwed on the base) and don't blend all the way. If you can get past this, I would say it's great!
